Many posts now come up blank for me --- eg

but many others as well. I sometimes see text as the page is loading, but then it disappears. If I click the "quote" button, the text appears in the quote box. So it's there, but not visible for some reason.

I'm using Safari on a Mac. I haven't tried other browsers ...

We just did a software mod to automatically resize images. This may be the culprit. I 'll send it upstairs.

The problem is that the javascript is not compatible. We're almost there though...we got the font to stay the same

The fix I sent Aaron and Dan doesn't use javascript, so maybe it will be compatible with more browsers. Also I noticed that the script crashed Barbara's browser last time...

Javascript can be very cool, yet quite temperamental...

Try IE on the Mac though, I'm interested to see if that will work.

...or you could just disable javascript temporarily. Images will not resize but you will be able to see all posts.

IE and Mozilla work (on a Mac; I'm in a PC free zone!).

Safari with Javascript off works too.

Yup. I turned off Javascript in Safari (I, too, am in a PC free area) and the posts show up just fine.

This problem has surfaced today for me using Safari 1.3.1 on Mac OSX.
Worked fine on Friday. I don't seem able to turn off Javascript on my
browser - that may be a glitch on my installation. I have resorted to
using Firefox.

Same happens for me. After initial loading of text and pictures where during the loading step everything is visible, all entries become blanked in the final stage. Only grey empty boxes remain present for each forum entry.

Btw, Java is different than Javascript just so you know. Your Javascript version is probably 1.1 or so.

Try Firefox for the time being... That version of IE on Win 2000 SP4 has some strange bugs...

The problem of empty text boxes in IE Windows2000 SP4 has been solved on my computer by disabling active scripting in Internet Explorer.

Disable Active Scripting in Internet Explorer :
1. Start Internet Explorer.
2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
3. On the Security tab, click Custom Level.
4. In the Settings box, click Disable under Active scripting.
5. Click OK, and then click OK.
6. Restart IE to take effect.

Everything works fine now.

Hopefully this tip helps other people that have the same problem. The problem of disappearing text started a few days ago after some change on the PO webserver.

We are still trying to find the java script which will work properly cross browser.

It's caused by a mod we added to wash every page for formating purposes.
