If only there was simple way that those kids from central America would not end up in US custody. No wait............ there is. Stay the hell in your own country.

Don't you have an American flag to burn somewhere? Or perhaps join Antifa and try to burn down an ICE building? LOL. Just like all the far left, you compare Auschwitz to detention facilities for illegals. You know, people who come to this country illegally. People who are breaking US law. But of course you are just like all the rest of the left. You want to destroy the Republic and the Constitution because it interferes with your vision of a communist utopia.

What the Democrat party proves daily with their desire for open borders, calling ICE agents Nazi's, free health care for illegals, and a generalized love of all things not American is they love illegals more than citizens. Change my mind.

Trump has already won in 2020 but the left is too stupid to get it.

He will probably win in 2020 but demographic shift an political ideas of Millenials + Gen Z are indicating that AOC or someone alike may well win in 2024.

Mind you, there are huge undertakings meant to register large number of destitute voters and "make Florida blue again" by 2020 elections.
For what I know from far away Florida is one of critical states - can be swinged one way or another and yet it has quite few places in EC.

Outside of Trump's worshiping fanatical base, maybe 30%, his approval hinges largely on the economy; an economy overdue for an 'adjustment'. This is why he attempts to manipulate the Fed, insisting that interest rates need to be kept low, even reduced. Everything else be damned, including the debt. Meanwhile he constantly throws out red meat for his loyal rabid masses in the form of divisive rhetoric, thinly-veiled racism and fear-mongering. Methinks many Joe Sixpacks may get Trump fatigue, growing tired of Trump blaming anything and anyone but himself. "Trumped up 'perfect people' are hard to tolerate for very long.

In reality, Donald Trump is little more than a scared little old man who has made an art of talking chit and avoiding any personal responsibility. Deep inside he knows if he loses the next election, the only thing between him and a jail cell is his money and corrupt lawyers. His desperation is beginning to show and I see a pretty good probability that he will melt down before November 3 2020.

Now cue Cog who'll say something idiotic about how "my girl lost".

What G said.

But can we preserve the Env threads for, well, directly environment-related issues and not let every single thread turn into endless partisan bickering? Please?

Our environmental debacle is deeply tied to our social, political and societal direction. Excluding any of this is tantamount to giving only lip service, even whistling past graveyards. These are all part and parcel of our collective behaviors and attitudes.

May as well talk baseball.

And stating facts is not "partisan bickering". If we don't elect leaders who will address the hard truths and make the difficult decisions about the environment and climate change, there's no point in discussing any of it.

LOL When have you not engaged in partisan bickering? It's like mother's milk to the left.

Again, I'm not the left, but I understand your ongoing binary confusion. I'm proof that true independent conservatism isn't dead in this country, as hard as you may wish it away.

I'm heartbroken by the awful conditions at the centers and am more than willing to provide them with a free bus ride back to their own country where I'm sure their own government will put them up in luxury and give them all the high quality health care that they need.

Uh huh. And if the democrats don't develop a streak of practicality and field a candidate that the 50% of the country that's conservative can hold their noses and vote for he'll be our next president.

The US military has decided that the bottom 15% of the population by IQ isn't even capable of being cannon fodder and won't induct them.

I always remember the woman who got a glass of sweetened ice tea, took a drink, said "That tastes funny." and dropped dead. Turns out the restaurant kept the sugar and the drain cleaner in the same color drum and the developmentally challenged worker whose job it was to make the iced tea got confused.

Once upon a time all a man needed to make a living was a strong back, as there were always bales that needed toting and barges that needed hauling. Those days are gone but those people still exist and they need to have jobs they can do.

Wrong.
In case of Chinese even 50% of Americans with above average IQ cannot outcompete more inelligent half of Chinese because average IQ there is higher than in the US.

On the othat hand Indians are an easy kill.
With average IQ 90 there even less intelligent half of Americans can outcompete more intelligent half of Indians at least as measured by statistics and resulting averages.

If you look on the issue by absolute numbers, then position of Americans is abyssymal.
In high IQ brackets there will be slightly more Indians and 5-7 times as many Chinese as Americans.

The US military has decided that the bottom 15% of the population by IQ isn't even capable of being cannon fodder and won't induct them.

Forest Gump made it though... :-D

Wait for 20-30 years more and again they will be the fittest for survival... or much faster if Trump and Putin/Xi cannot come to agreement.

Earth's 2019 resources 'budget' spent by July 29

https://phys.org/news/2019-07-earth-res ... -july.html

Mankind will have used up its allowance of natural resources such as water, soil and clean air for all of 2019 by Monday, a report said.

Earth Overshoot Day has moved up by two months over the past 20 years and this year's date is the earliest ever, the study by the Global Footprint Network said.

The equivalent of 1.75 planets would be required to produce enough to meet humanity's needs at current consumption rates.

... Calculated since 1986, the grim milestone has arrived earlier each year.

In 1993, it fell on October 21, in 2003 on September 22, and in 2017 on August 2.

Heard an interview with the guy who invented the footprint calculator. I forget which podcast it was, it was a free sampler interview that was normally behind a paywall.

What the gentleman said was that the footprint calculator is good at what it does but it does not include permanent damage to Earths systems. Soil loss, aquifer depletion, loss of ocean biomass, and so forth we’re not included in the findings. Therefore the findings were overly optimistic by a rather large bit.

Yes, but is that something to be celebrated, given Trump's pandering to "bring back coal"? So much of what comprised the bedrock of work in the 20th century was responsible for putting us in this ecological mess in the first place. So should we wax nostalgic over black-lung and bemoan banging at keyboards?

Easy to say DHS is unimportant up until the point we have another 911 attack.

In the meantime, said people will need to content themselves with emptying bedpans rather than driving in rail spikes or riveting ship's hulls.
