China’s development, governance set model for world

China’s remarkable political and socioeconomic achievements have created a development model illuminating to the whole world, said a Cypriot senior politician.

“Despite the huge size of the country and its people, it has managed to improve the living conditions of its citizens to a very high degree,” Antros Kyprianou, secretary general of the AKEL, the second largest party in Cyprus, said of China on Tuesday.

Over the past 70 years, China has developed into a major country in the world both economically and politically, bringing huge benefits to the Chinese people and those nations cooperating with China, he said in an interview with Xinhua on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China (PRC).

The Chinese government has fulfilled a most difficult task of governing a vast country with the biggest population in the world, he said, adding that after going through ups and downs, China has created its own model of socio-political development.

“It has created a special model of governance which constitutes one of the most successful and modern models of government in the world,” he said.

As regards economic development, he said the combination of government guidance and free market, along with technological progress in various sectors, constitutes a recipe for an effective system for Chinese conditions.

China, he said, now seems ready to manage a series of challenges, such as narrowing the gap between the rich and the poor and between urban and rural areas, supporting those sections of society in need, protecting the ecosystem and fighting corruption.

China has achieved its own development through peaceful policies and mutually beneficial cooperation, Kyprianou stressed.

Referring to the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), he said, “the contemporary ‘Silk Road’ is extending to every corner of the earth, creating economic development, investments, job opportunities, development of transport and infrastructure projects in different parts of the world.”

The Cypriot party leader also strongly denounced the violence in Hong Kong as well as other countries’ meddling in the internal affairs of China.

“We are clearly against the policy of undermining the sovereignty of the People’s Republic of China, especially when it comes from the involvement of third countries,” Kyprianou stressed.

He also deplored the double standard of those Western countries which oppose secessionist movements in other parts of the world, but when it comes to China they support in every way anything that can threaten its political stability.

In addition, the AKEL leader called for more exchanges between his party and the Communist Party of China, saying that these exchanges benefit both sides as they help strengthen the relations both between the two parties and between the peoples.

“I take this opportunity to thank the Communist Party of China for its immense contribution to the exchange of visits between the two parties, hoping that these will continue in the future,” he said.

China (why not Africa?) has made great progress.  The reason is not quantity, but quality of the population.  This is something the Democrat egalitarianists and the “wokes” are invincibly ignorant of.  It is also the reason Dem-led America is going the way of outhouseland.

yup, thats progress for you! nobody’s destroyed their landbase more thoroughly , more rapidly, or more mercilessly! china, truly a model for the future! mass surveillance for everyone, herded into a gigantic factory prison, belching toxic fumes into the air and pouring poisonous filth into the rivers and oceans, bulldozing all the land , reducing humans to obedient robots under pain of re-education.. yup, sounds like a great plan!
For all those who would rebut saying ‘but the west is doing the same thing’.. yeah that doesnt make china somehow better, it just makes them even stupider to see what the west did and deliberately copy it!

We have left them alone for too long,” he told Germany’s Bild am Sonntag newspaper after returning from a visit to Greece and Turkey, where he inspected the renewed refugee crisis first hand.”

“Three Countries That Prospered in the ’10s Are in Trouble”
    https://tinyurl.com/yyr3ova5 yahoo finance

“In the decade since the financial crisis, Germany, Singapore and South Korea stand out. All of these countries have outpaced the U.S. since 2009…But in the past year, these three countries’ economies have begun to look much shakier. Even as U.S. economic numbers look solid, Germany, South Korea and Singapore have all either experienced recessions or come close…A decline in exports is the main cause. About one-eighth of this is due to a slowdown in China, which has been a major customer of German capital equipment and other products. But the whole world is buying less from Germany these days. And where exports go, so goes the rest of the manufacturing sector…This shift means a painful adjustment for Germany. The German auto industry represents a huge, deep pool of knowledge over a century in the making; the switch to electric vehicle will quickly make a portion of that knowledge obsolete…Semiconductor exports represent about a quarter of South Korea’s entire economy. So a recent drop in shipments – probably due to the China slowdown, the U.S.-China trade dispute, and another brewing trade war between South Korea and Japan – is bound to be painful…Singapore is one of the most trade-dependent countries in the world, and the U.S.-China trade war – including U.S. restrictions on technology exports – will hit it hard… So all three of these star performers share similar issues – slowing global trade and falling demand for manufacturing imports. The end of China’s rapid catch-up growth, plus the U.S.-China trade war, signals an end to the global economic model that drove growth during the past 20 years. And if the Japan-Korea trade spat signals a more widespread turn toward economic nationalism, the world’s export-dependent economies could be in for even more pain. Meanwhile, the escalating urgency of climate change will disrupt industries like autos that rely on burning fossil fuels.”

“Federal Reserve’s Latest Bailouts More Proof Bad Times Ahead”
    https://tinyurl.com/y2q3zdv8 ron paul

Since September 17, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York has pumped billions of dollars into the repurchasing (repo) market, the first such intervention since 2009. The Fed has announced that it will continue to inject as much as 75 billion dollars a day into the repo market until November 4…Since launching its effort to “unwind” its balance sheet, the Fed had reduced its holdings by over 700 billion dollars. This seems like a large amount, but, given the Fed’s balance sheet was over four trillion dollars, the Fed only reduced its holdings by approximately 18 percent! If such a relatively small reduction in the Fed’s assets contributed to the cash shortage in the repo market, causing a panicked Fed to pump billions into the market, it is unlikely the Fed will be continuing selling assets and “normalizing” its balance sheet. Another factor contributing to the repo market’s cash shortage was a major sale of US Treasury securities. Sales of government securities leave less capital available for private sector investments, increasing interest rates. This “crowding out” effect provides one more justification for the Federal Reserve to pump more money into the markets.

    Wednesday’s EIA

Summary of Weekly Petroleum Data for the week ending October 4, 2019

U.S. crude oil refinery inputs averaged 15.7 million barrels per day during the week ending October 4, 2019, which was 361,000 barrels per day less than the previous week’s average. Refineries operated at 85.7% of their operable capacity last week. Gasoline production decreased last week, averaging 10.1 million barrels per day. Distillate fuel production increased last week, averaging 4.8 million barrels per day. U.S. crude oil imports averaged 6.2 million barrels per day last week, down by 67,000 barrels per day from the previous week. Over the past four weeks, crude oil imports averaged about 6.5 million barrels per day, 16.8% less than the same four-week period last year.

Total motor gasoline imports (including both finished gasoline and gasoline blending components) last week averaged 642,000 barrels per day, and distillate fuel imports averaged 92,000 barrels per day.

U.S. commercial crude oil inventories (excluding those in the Strategic Petroleum Reserve) increased by 2.9 million barrels from the previous week. At 425.6 million barrels, U.S. crude oil inventories are at the five year average for this time of year. Total motor gasoline inventories decreased by 1.2 million barrels last week and are about 2% above the five year average for this time of year.

Finished gasoline and blending components inventories both decreased last week. Distillate fuel inventories decreased by 3.9 million barrels last week and are about 9% below the five year average for this time of year. Propane/propylene inventories increased by 0.1 million barrels last week and are about 14% above the five year average for this time of year.

Total commercial petroleum inventories decreased last week by 8.3 million barrels last week.

Total products supplied over the last four-week period averaged 20.9 million barrels per day, up by 3.0% from the same period last year. Over the past four weeks, motor gasoline product supplied averaged 9.2 million barrels per day, up by 0.5% from the same period last year. Distillate fuel product supplied averaged 3.9 million barrels per day over the past four weeks, down by 7.1% from the same period last year. Jet fuel product supplied was down 0.7% compared with the same four-week period last year.

(again for the 2nd week jet fuel, diesel down. Not a good sign for overall economy)

Consumption was higher by 3% due to EXPORTS
of below cost of production shale oil.

Hard rock shale ‘crude’ makes excellent gasoline.
Diesel, jet fuel, HO, not so much.

EIA lumps condensates in with actual whole wheat.

I own NO producers, US or Canadian.
I do own existing pipelines cause enviros won’t permit new or replacements to be laid.

“Five Questions That Frighten Impeachment-Focused Dems”
“Ukraine-DNC Connection? It seems curious, to say the least, that neither the FBI nor former special counsel Robert Mueller discovered the successful 2016 efforts by the Democratic National Committee to reach out to the Ukrainian government to provide dirt on Trump and his campaign associates. Considering that both of those investigations were focused on uncovering a possible conspiracy with a foreign power to influence the presidential election, why was the Ukraine-DNC connection not looked into? It can only be gross incompetence or a deliberate decision to overlook that vital piece of the puzzle.”

“Anonymous Witnesses? The president’s opponents cannot possibly believe that they can impeach Trump using secondhand allegations provided by an anonymous source. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) has vowed that, if Democrats refuse to identify this “whistleblower,” then he will ensure that any Senate impeachment trial will do so. Further, it would be necessary for the identities of White House sources from whom the whistleblower claims to have obtained information to be exposed. Regardless of laws and rules designed to protect whistleblowers, any formal impeachment cannot be based upon testimony from unknown persons. Given that Democrats, since day one of the Trump presidency, have made no secret of their desire to impeach the president, the entire credibility of such an effort would stand or fall on complete transparency.”

“Another Whistleblower? At least one additional whistleblower has now come forward, according to reports, but does this fact change anything? Indeed, the outrage over the phone call between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky appears even more fabricated the more that anonymous individuals come forward with complaints. Already, it is highly suspicious that almost three weeks passed between the phone call itself and the filing of a complaint about what was said. Additional complaints filed even later hardly bolster the credibility of the case against Trump.”

“Schiff’s Role? How has Rep. Adam Schiff’s (D-CA) role in this latest assault upon the president compromised the entire process? Schiff has been less than forthcoming about his knowledge of events or the extent to which his own staffers worked with the whistleblower even before any complaint was filed with the intelligence community’s inspector general. As if the congressman were not already looking foolish and dishonest, his performance at a recent hearing was reason enough for Schiff to be compelled to recuse himself. During the event, he read out his own version of what Trump said to Zelensky – which bore no resemblance to the now-public transcript. The very idea that Schiff has either the capability or the desire to conduct a fair and objective investigation is utterly laughable.”

    “Window Of Opportunity?
Finally, how big is the window of opportunity for congressional Democrats to impeach the president? They may have so far avoided making the process official, but articles of impeachment must, at some point, be brought to the floor of the House for a vote. Once the opposition party chooses its presidential nominee, the campaign for the White House begins in earnest, and impeaching Trump during an election campaign is going to be seen as purely an attempt to influence the 2020 election – even by those Americans who do not already see it as such. Democrats, therefore, have around eight months to conclude their investigations, draw up articles of impeachment, and bring them up for debate and a vote. The holiday season will take a bite out of that time, so the clock is ticking. The chances of impeachment going before the Senate before the 2020 Democratic National Convention are slim to none.”
