Pessimism, Possible ‘Takeunders’ on the Oil Industry Horizon

BP Plc agreed to sell its entire business in Alaska to closely held Hilcorp Energy Co. for $5.6 billion, ending a six-decade presence in the state as oil production there declines. Tom Loughrey, president of Friezo Loughrey Oil Well Partners, and Mark Rossano, founder & CEO of C6 Capital Holdings, talks with Bloomberg’s Alix Steel about BP’s Alaskan exit, pessimism in the oil market and potential for “takeunders” in the industry. BP knows better than anyone, days for the Alaskan pipeline are numbered. With no ports built in newly ice free nearby new-found-land, whatever remains in Alaska’s oil stash will be stranded. (see permafrost melt)

Speaking of peak-oil the following series of charts is quite telling. All the peaks your father didn’t tell you.

Yeah all shale oil did was prolong the inevitable for a few years while leaving behind environmental disaster and a pile of debt that is going to wreak havoc on the financial system. What is coming soon is going to be way worse than 2009 and I don’t see any bailouts happening this time.

Brent, the “perfect storm” to take down the US and most of the West has been put in place. The Great Leveling is teetering on the edge of the precipice. All it will take is one black mosquito to land and…to be continued.

The analysts in the video are as doomer as anyone on this site. They didn’t have one good or hopeful thing to say about oil or the oil industry.
