Russia-Ukraine conflict pushing world towards clean energy

Alternative Energy

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is a historic turning point in global energy markets, providing an unprecedented incentive to accelerate the transition to clean energy sources of fuel, according to the World Energy Outlook 2022 released on October 27, 2022.

Economic sanctions on oil and coal imports from Russia and its cutback on the natural gas supply have caused a dent in the world’s energy supply. Russia is the world’s largest exporter of fossil fuels.

The supply of natural gas is hit hard in Europe, said the report by intergovernmental organisation International Energy Agency (IEA).

Electricity and heat demand in the winter months shoot up in the Northern Hemisphere, so it is likely to be a challenging time for the European Union for the next couple of years, the report highlighted.

Russia supplied 40 per cent of Europe’s natural gas, mostly via pipelines. Due to geopolitical tension, the report said that “the era of rapid growth in gas demand draws to a close” and its role as a transition fuel has been dwarfed as a result.

The global energy crisis has sparked desperate attempts from governments to promote energy security.

Governments either tried to go for short-term responses like boosting fossil fuel investment and subsidies or accelerating clean energy transitions with programmes such as the REPowerEU and legislations like the United States Inflation Reduction Act

Russia’s share of internationally traded natural gas may drop from 30 per cent in 2021 to 15 per cent in 2030, current scenarios indicate. If countries meet their pledges, Russia’s natural gas trade will fall to 10 per cent.

This is because China already has enough contracts for liquified natural gas and, therefore, will not be able to accommodate a pipeline from Russia, IEA reported.

Natural gas demand is expected to be 750 billion cubic metres lower than it is today by 2050, driven by a switch from natural gas to renewables, according to a global Stated Policies Scenario that projects the trajectory of current policies.

Global natural gas demand may increase by 5 per cent by 2030 and plateau without much change by 2050 because developing countries in South and Southeast Asia are no longer enthusiastic about gas as a transition fuel, the report said.

While coal demand may peak soon, oil demand may peak in the mid-2030s before dropping marginally.

Oil currently comprises 80 per cent of the global energy mix, but it may drop to 75 per cent by 2030 and around 60 per cent by 2050, based on the analysis of current policies.

The demand for fossil fuels is expected to decline by 2030, according to Announced Pledges Scenario, which are projections based on IEA member countries’ climate pledges.

As per current policies, natural gas accounts for 50 per cent of the rise in electricity generation costs worldwide and prices may remain high until the late 2020s. The costs of renewable electricity generation were marginal, demonstrating the potential of energy transitions as a solution, the report said.

“High energy prices are causing a huge transfer of wealth from consumers to producers, back to the levels seen in 2014 for oil, but entirely unprecedented for natural gas,” the report read.

“The environmental case for clean energy needed no reinforcement, but the economic arguments in favour of cost-competitive and affordable clean technologies are now stronger — and so too is the energy security case. Today’s alignment of economic, climate and security priorities has already started to move the dial towards a better outcome for the world’s people and for the planet,” IEA Executive Director Fatih Birol said.

Europe is going back to coal and wood. Others are talking about burning trash. Oil is selling in amounts equal to before the flu bullshit. Countries are fight1ng over NG. Wind and solar are proving to be the lie that they can replace FFs. NOt going to happen this century.

Actually Mak… Renewables could replace FFs in this century – we just need to continue BAU then we will have a reindeer island scenario all by itself which could reduce human population dramatically.

peakyeast, curtain what BAU? The 1,000,000,000 plus or minus Westerners or the 7,000,000,000 plus who want what the West has had? I agree that population will go down this century, but it will be in the West, not the rest. It is already happening.

Example: Africa is adding the population of Canada to their number every year.

Even “exceptional” Amerika is on the losing borderline.

“The U.S. population grew at a slower rate in 2021 than in any other year since the founding of the nation, based on historical decennial censuses and annual population estimates.

The U.S. Census Bureau Vintage 2021 Population Estimates released today show that population grew only 0.1% and that the COVID-19 pandemic exacerbated the slower growth the country has experienced in recent years.”

0.1 percent = ~330,000 people or the population of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

If the US stopped importing bodies across the boarder, it would be negative. When the “woke” fade blows over, the decline will accelerate as few will want or be able to have babies. So be it. In 20+ years, I will not be around to see if I am correct, but…

When the U.S. fights a war, it bombs civilians. Since Russia’s real foe is the United States, why not reply with the same tactic on the U.S. proxies? Wiping out bridges on the Dnieper (Днепр) would be even milder than what superduperland does. One can easily imagine what Biden’s reptiles and Pentagonians would do if the roles were reversed. Indeed, it is true what Dmitry Anatolyevich Medvedev (Дми́трий Анато́льевич Медве́дев), Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, says: that only through a Russian victory in Ukraine can there be world peace. He notes that, when the Empire of Lies says that the war must continue until Ukraine regains every bit of its original, pre-2014 territory, it is prescribing permanent war, since that would be attacking Russia itself. And if by some American-engineered operation, the Ukroid proxies did so attack, it could mean nuclear war.

Of course, no crime is beyond the American regime. There is actually a very small number of honest commentators in the West who have pointed that out. Thus, the entire planet is currently in danger because of the reptiles in Washington.

The tiny grain of matter on which all higher life has evolved in our part of the Milky Way is now in danger of being purged of all such life by the psychopaths in charge of America.

The dictators of the U.S. are sadistic fools. They imagine that this is 1941 and they can engineer another one of their righteous wars and win gloriously against Russia with no serious consequences to the United States itself.  After all, we fought against the nasty Nazis and won, didn’t we?

According to Colonel Douglas MacGregor at on YouTube, there is a “rumor floating around inside the beltway” that we are actually talking about standing up a Russian government in exile.  In October, retired general Petraeus, used ventriloquially, mentioned that a “coalition of the willing” would insert 50,000 to 80,000 troops into western Ukraine — despite Russia’s warnings that they would destroy it.

The warmonger bubble in D.C. is taking the nation, and the West as a whole, into the depths of hell.  And the lemmings who vote them into power are blissfully unaware that they are electing to die in a most horrible way.  This time, not only America, but also that cutesy dogwagging island of Great Britain will cease to exist.  And the corrupt bootlicking slaves running western Europe will be surprised to see their countries go up in nuclear smoke.

    This is not a bluff.

Because of the UkroWar, things are getting hairy. Saith Bloomberg:

US Quietly Asks Banks to Keep Some Ties With Russia, Even as Congress Balks.  Among other jewels in the Nov. 7 report:

The administration is attempting to obstruct Russia’s advancements while averting a catastrophic global economic collapse, even as some in Congress pound the table for tougher sanctions against Russia.”

Because, after all, Russian funds are “are also essential to maintaining global financial flow.”  Otherwise, the Empire of Lies will cause a “catastrophic global economic collapse.”  About this hypocritical duplicity of the Biden administration (which finally recognizes it is getting into Mariana-Trench-deep water), the office of pretentiously querying U.S. Congressman Brad Sherman, a Democrat from California, naturally said that they “had no further comment.”
