Nuclear Explained – Is Fusion Energy Possible?

Alternative Energy

For decades, fusion energy has been a distant dream offering the prospect of almost limitless clean energy. But now with burgeoning private sector involvement and major scientific breakthroughs occuring regularly, it seems like fusion’s realization is getting closer than ever. In this episode, experts explain the science behind fusion and the challenges that must be overcome before this source of energy could be powering our homes.

Guests:

  • Hyun-Kyung Chung, Head of Policy and Strategy Division at the Korea Institute of Fusion Energy
  • Ian Chapman, CEO of the UK Atomic Energy Authority
  • Dennis Whyte, Director of the MIT Plasma Science and Fusion Center

The experts explain the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor fusion megaproject, better known as ITER, and the steps needed to realize fusion energy. The IAEA fosters international collaboration and coordination to help close the existing gaps in physics, technology and regulation and move forward in developing the peaceful use of fusion energy.

Well with extreme inflow of capital and resources one would expect them… getting closer…

However… Not even close to a cigar yet….

“For decades, fusion energy has been a distant dream…”

Correction:”For 80+ years, fusion energy has been a distant dream…” And its practical use will never happen.

Of course fusion energy is possible in huge amounts, just look at the sun and stars, but as a cheap source of electrical energy here on earth, dream on!

Report: Earth’s vital signs signal a ‘code red’ climate emergency

“Five years ago, more than 15,000 experts signed the “World Scientists’ Warning to Humanity: A Second Notice” regarding the imminent dangers posed by climate change.

The latest update to that research, published in the journal BioScience, says the Earth’s vital signs have reached “code red.”

Atmospheric levels of all three greenhouse gases hit record high

Scientists warn world ‘is heading in wrong direction’ amid rise in nitrous oxide, carbon dioxide and methane

“scientists say means the world is “heading in the wrong direction”.

The WMO found there was the biggest year-on-year jump in methane concentrations in 2020 and 2021 since systematic measurements began almost 40 years ago.

Methane levels have risen rapidly in recent years, puzzling scientists.”

Tropical Storm Nalgae slams into Philippines, dozens dead
    10/29/2022October 29, 2022

An average of 20 storms hit the Philippines every year and scientists warn that their intensity is only getting worse as climate change makes the world a warmer place.

Big Whoop. It’s just gooks and sexually depraved US expats who moved there to fuck them on the cheap.

Yes Famous, and they have been hitting the Ps for millennia, just like Florida, Georgia, Texas, Mississippi, Puerto Rico, etc.. The population of the Gulf Coast and the East Coast in the US far exceeds the population of the Ps but they still live there.

Not changing much, but actually, fewer typhoons hit the P’s this year. Most going to Japan instead. Climates change, but more in the north than in the equatorial latitudes. Pennsylvania temps range from -20F to 105F. Temps here range from 60F to 90F with few exceptions.

I’ll take an occasional hurricane/typhoon to the subzero/snow/ice winters in the north. We lost the thatch roof on the old house, now used for storage, but it can be repaired in a day with palm fronds, etc, from the jungle beside it, although we are going to replace it with corrugated galvanize and steel. Storage is in large plastic tubs so nothing was lost, just the roof.

Occasionally, someone ignores the storm warnings and does stupid things and gets killed, just like anywhere. That is life here. When you get in a car do you think that you may never come home alive? ~120 people a day in the US never come home. Many more are seriously hurt or permanently crippled. That’s life anywhere.

BTW: If you are interested, this is what I saw on my weekend trip to Singapore last weekend. Not a boring, rundown airport like in the US.

Biden loves mental defectives, coloreds, queers, perverts, freaks and career criminals.  That makes it possible for domestic and foreign, nihilist superrich and globalists, hate-filled Jews and psychopaths of every stripe to wag the dog.  As Christopher Caldwell wrote in his article, “Complications of the Ukraine War” in the SEPTEMBER 2022 issue of Imprimis :

“Finally, we should have learned from the latter stages of George W. Bush’s administration that it is hard to build a forceful foreign policy on top of a wobbly domestic mandate.  This is especially true of the Biden administration, which seems unable to distinguish between domestic policy and foreign policy.  At the one-month mark after the Russian invasion, for instance, the White House sent a message in which President Biden proclaimed his commitment to those affected by the Russian invasion — ‘especially vulnerable populations such as women, children, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex (LGBTQI+) persons, and persons with disabilities.’”

It is allegedly for this motley assemblage that we are squandering tens of U.S. $billions (not to mentions tens of thousands of Ukrainian lives and the destruction of the whole of Ukraine).  And there is now a semi-official rumor circulating around Washington that we need to set up a Russian “government in exile” and use “mini-nukes” to impose it on Russland.

None are so blind as those who will not see.
