America “should begin work immediately” on building fusion reactor

Alternative Energy

The US should begin work immediately on designing and building a pilot fusion reactor, according to a landmark report by a group of scientists, politicians and industry.

The study, produced by the plasma physics division of the American Physical Society, based in Princeton University, argues that America should play a more prominent role in developing fusion power.

Nathan Ferraro (pictured), a researcher at the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL), and the co-chair of the report, said the US should take “bold steps to make fusion energy a reality, to expand our understanding of plasma physics, and to use that understanding to benefit society”.

The 199-page document, put together over the past year with the help of hundreds of scientists and engineers from many professional societies, makes a number of recommendations, including the construction of a fusion pilot plant that “produces net electricity and thereby establishes the scientific and technological basis for commercial fusion energy”.

At present, the US has been a somewhat unenthusiastic participant in the ITER project to build a demonstration fusion reactor in the south of France.

In 2017, the Trump administration cut America’s contribution to the scheme from a scheduled $105m to $50m.

The report recommends that the US should sustain full membership in ITER.

It is intended to help the US Department of Energy develop a strategy for its Fusion Energy Sciences programme.

The document calls for partnerships with other offices and governmental agencies, as well as with private industry and international partners, to enact the full recommendations of the strategic plan.

“We are encouraged to see that this process brought the community together to recognise the full scope of this challenge, and that coordinated, multidisciplinary research and development is needed to achieve our goals,” Ferraro said.

JuanP, you shared an accurate description of the Delusional Missouri Jackass, as usual. I know he would pounce on my comments just to prove how much of a jackass he really is. Not that I read his responses. They are all arrogant bullshit.

He owns no mirrors because he would see himself as other see him. I laugh every time I read about his so called ‘refuge’ in Northern Italy as one of the worse virus hit locations in the world today. Such an all-around loser!

We are in semi-lock-down here, but it is manageable. I’ll just stay home until it blows over. Nice to be one of those ‘loser’ preppers. I hope you are in a good position also. Take care!

juanPee, tell us again like you have been for months now this virus ain’t shit. LMFAO. Tell me how wonderful Miami Beach is in lockdown. Tell me how all that money you had in the market is worthless now. You are one screwed, blued, and tattooed fool. Go fucking limp back to daddy in South America and ask for a place to live. Your days are over in the US.

I am rubbing my shit all over like people do with puppies to potty train them. I am just a worthless individual that makes my day when I subject you all my stupidity. If I ever get tired of the neutering I get from you all every day, It would be a 1st because I am a fucking idiot. Some people can’t learn and I am one of them.

This is how you claim to house train puppies? Cruel and abusive negative reinforcement is unnecessary, heartless, and often leads to failure.

    Shame on you.

You are projecting again, Exceptionalist! You are the one who is a complete fool and failure, of course. Mak is a man that worked and supported himself all his life while you have been your daddy’s parasite all of yours. You were born under very privileged circumstances, by your own claims, and still couldn’t even manage to hold a job, buy a house, or support yourself. Does your daddy pay for the twins’ expenses, too, pussy?

Plane with 5 passengers on board: Donald Trump, Boris Johnson, Angela Merkel, The Pope and a 10-year-old schoolboy. The plane is about to crash and there are only 4 parachutes.

Trump says I need one: “I’m the smartest man in the USA and am needed to make America great again.” Takes one and jumps.

Johnson says, ‘I’m needed to sort out Britain’. He takes one and jumps.

The Pope says, ‘I need one as the world needs the Catholic Church.’ He takes one and jumps.

Angela says to the ten year old: “You can have the last parachute. I’ve lived my life, yours is only just starting.”

The 10-year-old replies: “Don’t worry, there are 2 parachutes left. The smartest man in the USA took my school bag.”’

Among to the top ten countries in terms of total cases, the US has the second-lowest rate per 100,00, behind only Germany, which has so far a remarkably small number of deaths. At this point, some observers will say “but Italy has had an outbreak longer than the US, so we must measure in terms of the number of days since the pandemic began in that country.” Well, if we measure from the first day that the United States reported at least 100 cases, we find 19 days have gone by as of March 23. If we take the same top ten countries and look at each one’s death rate after 19 days following the 100th case of COVID-19, then we find the US still has the second-to-last rate.”

Now (well actually, last April), Reade says Biden touched her inappropriately when she was in her mid-20s. “My life was hell,” said Reade. “This was about power and control. I couldn’t get a job on the Hill.” Now, She’s given a graphic podcast interview with Rolling Stone’s Katie Halper where she tells her full story. Reade describes a graphic incident from 1993 in which as superior asked her to run a gym bag to Biden “down towards the capital.” When Biden greeted her (not allegedly of course, since we’re believing all women), he forced her up against a wall and shoved his hands up her skirt. Biden’s “hands were on me and underneath my clothes,” she said, after he “had me up against the wall.” “I remember him saying first, like as he was doing it, ‘Do you want to go somewhere else,'” she said, adding “And then him saying to me when I pulled away, he got finished doing what he was doing, and I kind of just pulled back and he said, ‘Come on man, I heard you liked me.”

    https://tinyurl.com/r4z99p2 voima gold

“JN: Can political instability arise in the US and eurozone? TM: For sure. The European banking sector will not be able to cope with this blow, and probably the eurozone won’t be either. We expect the eurozone to start breaking up at some point. Massive poverty and unemployment will create all sorts of havoc, especially in the center and southern European states. Possibly also in the US. JN: So, you are saying this will cause the eurozone to break up? TM: Yes. Almost certainly. JN: I also read in your reports the possibilities of a systemic crisis and hyperinflation. What are the odds of these scenarios? TM: The systemic crisis scenario we have been pondering for a few years. It means the breaking of the fabric of the financial system. We do not have a precedent of such an event on a global scale—as it would also include the breakdown of the societal order. The closest thing we have seen is the breakup of the Soviet Union. We are currently drawing up new analyses, and in the most pessimistic scenario, there is a systemic crisis. But we still consider it to be rather unlikely. JN: What was your view on the euro, say, five months ago? A viable monetary union? TM: No. I was part of an independent group called “the euro think tank.” It was set up by Professor Vesa Kanniainen from the University of Helsinki. We wrote a book on it with about eight people specialized in different fields of economics. What we found was that the eurozone was really weak, and the only way to save it was to turn it into some kind of federal union. And even that, would that work? It still wouldn’t be a country. You can’t make Finns keep sending money to Greece. When that happened during the euro-crisis, that really changed the psyche here in Finland. People here don’t want to send money all over Europe. Neither can we go back to the Maastricht Treaty because we have so many TARGET2 imbalances, debt guarantees to other countries, and bailout funds we have set up. That’s out of the window. So, our political leaders will violently try and push us into a federal union, or we break up.”

I want to get rid of your globalist kind, if necessary with the help of China and Russia and reassert the power of a majority white Europe, now as a united independent force and run an identitarian multipolar world together with China. If the kikes manage to get fat American whitey under control once and for all, using their third world import, that’s too bad then, but we can live with an impotent neo-Brasil where nothing works any more.

In the worst case, I think that, considering your military track record, 2 billion Eurasians can easily defeat 460 million or so Anglo-Zionists in WW3, to be started in for instance the SCS, Gulf or Syria.

I follow a systematic approach to this situation that is just an adaption of my earlier positions that we have been in a collapse process now for years both human and planetary. This virus accelerated it by upending normal human routines but also popping the economic bubbles that kept the growth and degrowth tensions in an undulating plateau. Techno advances have been largely responsible for continued growth in the last 10 years along with China building a new nation of concrete and steel. Main Street has been in decline while Amazon expanded. The rich have gotten richer on financialization and so forth.

Now we are in a new paradigm of actual decline. Real stuff is not being made and the amount of real stuff not made as this virus passes around the globe is huge. BTW the virus is likely to return in a second wave and even if there is a vaccine and better drugs it is too late to go back to normal uninhibited globalism of the last 20 years. This globalism was under pressure before but now with this event it will be in free fall. No other economic engine can do what globalism can do in regards to activity and wealth. This means destructive change of economic abandonment, dysfunctional networks, and irrational behavior will now be much stronger than our previous experiences. This then means systematic turbulence and volatility as our human system finds a new level of stability. This will likely be multi year process with stair stepping results in many and varied sectors and regions. It will be self-organizing and amplified by past but also new negative converging problems both local and global.

There is a good and bad of this earth-shattering event if we summons the will to adapt and mitigate. This process was developing but our social narrative was dedicated to arresting this decline process. The bad is the consequence are not going to be sugar coated. We will be a poorer people and there will be many who slip through the cracks into bad situations and death. This death will also be a process that will come over time as people’s lives adapt in adversity. The good of this is a crisis creates change that we as a people were unwilling to do. A certain amount of degrowth was necessary to mitigate the brick wall of limits we have been bumping up against here and there. There were irrational policies of more when a sober reality of less is called for. This has been thrust on we the people by nature in a shock. We can point fingers at who might have started this but nobody can point finger too much at a virus which is organic but not intelligent. This virus and the loss of wealth that will never be recovered both with production but also systematic connections is real degrowth not theoretical. We are now poorer with real things but also the potential for more is gone.

We need to be poorer and this is a good thing albeit in material things. Our spiritual wealth can increase dramatically as we step up to a challenge. This poorer is both with greens and browns. The socialistic green new deal “as-is” is now totally unrealistic because we are too poor to implement it. Brown late stage capitalism just saw huge amounts of digital wealth mainly held by the rich disappear. Lower economic activity will force people back to their local where they scale. Scaling here is less energy intensive growing of food, home economics, and leisure along with making a modern living which can’t end. This is the Anthropocene so there is no way we can return to early 20th century living in nostalgia. There is a lot of low hanging fruit of change here and much needed for planetary health. All this good is if we adapt with mind and body. It is unclear if modern man can step up to less of everything. Less of everything except pain and suffering. I think we can and it came not too soon. The potential for much worse was ahead and the causes many. It happened so let’s get on with adapting to a world of less.

Five percent of the world’s population will no longer be able to enjoy twenty percent of the world’s resources.

I like to think of this as the great leveling. Third world here we come!

    GO TRUMP!
