Here is me after a week in the wilds:

'Necrotizing Fascitis'? It's something like that. Thanks for the concern gg3. I dumped on the Hydrogen Peroxide after soap and water and then laid on the Polysporin just in case. I regularly get hacked up in the bush but usually not too bad. This one was sort of self inflicted by design unfortunately. This winter I brazed an additional hydraulic line guide onto the frame and remember thinking 'this is a bad location, I am going to get sliced'. It took about 10 rides for the 'correct' circumstances to occur.

Nice pic. from the bush, Torjus. I love doing that sort of thing but unfortunately haven't in about a decade. I used to go to Algonquin Park a fair bit. It is about a 4 hour drive from where I live and is truly wild. Pretty much after the last time I went, a married couple got killed and eaten by a bear on an island I had camped on for a weekend a month before. In all seriousness the risk isn't super dangerous since black bears are normally scared of people. There have only been 10 or so killings in the past century. Still though, the place is wild. I suspect that a lot of Norway and Canada are quite similar: ie, bears, moose, forest, etc..

Drew, yes, necrotizing fascitis. Good for you having taken care of it properly. I got a nasty bike accident injury about ten years ago and dumped a bunch of rubbing alcohol on it to be safe, and then climbed into the shower and ran water over it. Let's just say it was a lifetime lesson in the Buddhist art of detachment from pain.

Heh, Rogo, right you are. I'm gay and believe me it requires serious self-discipline to avoid posting comments such as "dude, are you single?" after some cute guy posts a picture here. Of which there are many. And most of those are also smart as hell too, which is what really gets my interest (grab me by the brain and my heart and ballz will follow, in that order).
