Kunstler: Thirteen Russians and a Ham Sandwich

Public Policy

Remember that one from 1996? Funny, that was the American mainstream media bragging, after the fact, about our own meddling in another nation’s election.

WASHINGTON — A team of American political strategists who helped [California] Gov. Pete Wilson with his abortive presidential bid earlier this year said this week that they served as Russian President Boris N. Yeltsin’s secret campaign weapon in his comeback win over a Communist challenge.

—The Los Angeles Times, July 9, 1996

The beauty in Robert Mueller’s indictment of thirteen Russian Facebook trolls is that they’ll never face trial, so Mr. Mueller will never have to prove his case. In the new misrule of law made popular by the #Me Too movement, accusations suffice to convict the target of an investigation. Kind of sounds like going medieval to me, but that’s how we roll now in the Land of the Free.

Readers know, of course, that I’m not a Trump supporter, that I regard him as a national embarrassment, but I’m much more disturbed by the mindless hysteria ginned up Washington’s permanent bureaucracy in collusion with half a dozen major newspapers and cable news networks, who have run a psy-ops campaign to shove the country into a war mentality.

The New York Times published a doozy of a lead story on Saturday, the day after the indictments were announced. The headline said: Trump’s Conspicuous Silence Leaves a Struggle Against Russia Without a Leader. Dean Baquet and his editorial board are apparently seeking an American Napoleon who will mount a white horse and take our legions into Moscow to teach these rascals a lesson — or something like that.

I’m surely not the only one to notice how this hysteria is designed to distract the public attention from the documented misconduct among FBI, CIA, NSA, State Department officials and the leaders of the #Resistance itself: the Democratic National Committee, its nominee in the 2016 election, HRC, and Barack Obama’s White House inner circle. You would think that at least some of this mischief would have come to Robert Mueller’s attention, since the paper trail of evidence is as broad and cluttered as the DC Beltway itself. It actually looks like the greatest act of bureaucratic ass-covering inn US history.

Of course, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein was quick to qualify the announced indictments by saying that Russian trolling on Facebook had no effect on the 2016 election, and that the Trump campaign was not implicated in it. Maybe the indictments were just a table-setter for something more potent to come out of Mueller’s office. But what if it’s not. What if this is all he has to show for a year and a half of the most scrupulous delving into this “narrative?”

Meanwhile, the damage done among America’s former thinking class essentially leaves this polity like the Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz: without a brain. I doubt they will be satisfied by Mueller’s indictment of the thirteen Russian trolls. Rather, it may tempt them to even more violent hysterics and greater acts of lawlessness. The only thing that will stop this nonsense is Big Trouble in the financial system — which the news media and most of the public are ignoring at their peril. It is coming at us good and hard and it will feel like a two-by-four to nation’s skull when it gets here.

America meddless in every nation. Here Victoria Nuland bragging about how they enforced regime change in the Ukraine.

Washington failed in its objective to create a major war in Eastern Europe. Instead they got their asses kicked in Iraq, Syria and an ongoing bleeder in Afghanistan. I hope that 13 Russians did indeed made a difference, although I highly doubt it.

Indeed. Funny how we can easily point to dozens, hundreds(?) of instances where amerika has interfered in the electoral process, of both ‘friends’ and foes alike or the past century. But after nearly two years of non-stop, orchestrated hysteria, the entirely of the mighty uS government AND its infotainment complex, cannot provide any evidence, circumstantial or otherwise, of Russia’s (alleged) interference of the one it is accused of.

All dumbass amerika need to do now, is to start watering their crops with sport drinks instead of water and the picture will be complete.

It is a fascinating world we Amerikans live in. Most will follow the MSM taking a left or right stance on political issues. Never looking beyond the powers that be for news. The fascists have won. We now are under the control of a ruling elite that make us all look like the fools that we Amerikans are,as the the PTB go laughing all the way to our collective human destruction.

Kunstler gets to the heart of the matter again. Trump’s a dolt, the Russia investigation is a farce, and meanwhile the country’s real problems go unaddressed.

LoL, check out this guys CV@

Hedge fund manager lol, (aka fraud specialist), amoung his many other distinctly not-science related activities, fields of study, and education. In fact, looking at that, there is not one thing in there that could charitably be linked to science, or technology. In fairness to trump, the uS has a long history of stuffing people in positions they have no business occupying. Such as, oil and gas industry lobbyists put in charge of ‘environmental protection’, Wall St insiders put in tasked with overseeing financial non-regulation and so on. Trump hardly invented putting unqualified people with a vested interest in undermining the very departments they are are supposed to manage.

    Its the amerikan way.

Kunsler has become even more of an embarrassment since Trump was elected. It’s one thing to be skeptical about the government and media, another to parrot every single talking point of the Trump defenders.

Like a lot of people in the decline-of-Western-civilization camp, I had a certain amount of sympathy for Putin. I thought democracy in Ruyssia, with their history, was probably going to come at too high a cost in the post-cheap-energy future. I even defended what he did in the Crimea for the future of that part of the world. Some of Trump’s statements before the election gave me a tiny bit of hope that someone in his brain trust had a clue about where history is heading. Not enough to vote for him, of course. I thought Greer was downright deranged when he got to that point.

Well, now it pretty clear that Trump’s just another tin-pot pissant wannabe dictator. Why Kunsler thinks he needs to carry his water is bemusing. Makes you wonder if he’s getting paid by the Russians.

““The most likely theater for nuclear conflicts would once again be here, in the center of Europe,””

Better than in NoKo. I’m about 8,000 kilometers from Europe. Only about 2,500 from NoKo.

““And the U.S. can’t stay safe over the ocean – we’ll create the same risk for the U.S. as they do for us in Europe,””

“Ian Bremmer, the founder of the Eurasia Group told Handelsblatt that, “We’re in trouble, because, you know, pretty much every geopolitical conflict out there is escalating, none of them are getting fixed, and no one has any solutions. This was not a good meeting.””

The 3AM flash is getting closer and closer.

  10. Davy on Tue, 20th Feb 2018 8:17 am

Billy 3rd world, have you explained your obsession with the 3am flash to your estranged grandkids? Have you explained to them how happy that would make you?. You are one sick old man.

  11. fmr-paultard on Tue, 20th Feb 2018 8:21 am

  12. makati1 on Tue, 20th Feb 2018 9:26 am

Davy, when you cannot prevent something, you learn to accept it. Nothing I can do will prevent the future from happening. I have no reason to apologize for it. They just had the misfortune of being born in to this time and place like the rest of us. So be it. You are the sick one as everyone here already knows.

  13. MASTERMIND on Tue, 20th Feb 2018 9:48 am

Here is the difference between me and you..I know the whole world is going to crash and burn. But I don’t root on the collapse and bad things to happen to people in other countries i dislike..

  14. Davy on Tue, 20th Feb 2018 9:50 am

billy 3rd world, that would be believable except that we know the real billy that is obsessed with hate and resentment. That hate and resentment is clearly greater than your compassion for your family. If you really cared about your family you would not say the things you do the way you do. You would not say that there are no innocents in the US. Sicko, you are the guilty one. It is your generation that could have done differently and didn’t.

  15. MASTERMIND on Tue, 20th Feb 2018 9:53 am

Madkat you might find this funny…

  16. JuanP on Tue, 20th Feb 2018 12:26 pm

In these last week almost everyone I know here in Miami that needs to work for a living is having a nervous breakdown, but my rich acquaintances are all having a great time and completely oblivious. The bottom 80% is reaching its breaking point and I fear what will happen when we get there. “when you got nothing, you got nothing to lose. You are invisible now; you have no secrets to conceal. Tell me how does it feel?” I fear American society is headed towards a civil war or a revolution. People who have nothing to lose are likely to get violent, and unrealistic hope of a better future is the only thing they got left. Once they lose that hope things will crash overnight in the USA. This ship is going down and this rat is ready to bail in a New York minute!

  17. MASTERMIND on Tue, 20th Feb 2018 12:57 pm

I agree….We are headed towards a million civil wars and a million french revolutions.. And with all the guns the public owns…It won’t be pretty…

  18. Cloggie on Tue, 20th Feb 2018 1:34 pm

Trump’s marriage meanwhile seems to have acquired a high “JFK-character”, with Melania tempted to go her own way, without officially breaking up.

  19. GregT on Tue, 20th Feb 2018 2:10 pm

“We are headed towards a million civil wars and a million french revolutions.”

There are only 323 million people living in the US MM.

“And with all the guns the public owns…It won’t be pretty”

Agreed. Move as far away from densely populated areas as possible. Especially if you live in a place where the public owns a lot of guns.

  20. Anonymouse1 on Tue, 20th Feb 2018 3:37 pm

Oh good, here comes cloggen-berg to keep everyone up to date on topics of great interest and relevance.

Like, trump gossip, for example. Both Timely and topical. Exactly like a gossipy old jewish woman that loves to sit around all day on her can and do nothing but…gossip about her betters.

I got the perfect place for you hang out and post. A place where your kind are welcomed, and appreciated. Ok maybe appreciated is too strong a word. But still, a place you can go and be with your kind of people, cloggraham.

    Your welcome, and goodbye.

  21. Cloggie on Tue, 20th Feb 2018 4:14 pm

    Your welcome, and goodbye.

Our friend mouse here fears the day that he no longer will enjoy black privilege, namely being tolerated in the European world, where 1 billion and counting Africans aren’t that privileged.

Be careful with what you wish for. It might actually come true. Are you ready for that?

Don’t believe me. JuanP and millimind and GregT, who all three definitely are NOT Natzis (whatever that might mean in 2018, I’ve never seen one), feel like social destabilization is around the corner. In your North-America to be precise. Societies are like chemical compositions… if the concentrations have reached a certain threshold value, the temperature increases and at some point the irreversible chemical reaction takes places and the brew boils over.

Why don’t you study the last 2 years before the start of the civil war in Yugoslavia. It could be extremely relevant for your situation.

You are constantly ranting against “American Exceptionalism” and the “jew-knighted states”. Don’t you realize that both actually worked in your (ethnic) favor over the past decades? Don’t you realize that you were what cows are in India: “holy”.

That will be no longer the case, “post-America”, when the world will transfer from uni-polar American hegemony into multi-polar identitarianism and we could all become IS-warrior look-a-likes. IS is what happens if the social order melts down.

Ghung once said that there could come a day we are going to miss Pax Americana. He might be right. Not that chemical reactions are much concerned with the “feelings” of the chemical constituents. It just happens.

Hungarian PM Viktor Orban: “the West will fall”.

Not because of that silly non-event peak conventional oil, but because of mass migration from hostile cultures.

I don’t think we are going to make it to iPhone-15/Windows-15.

  23. makati1 on Tue, 20th Feb 2018 5:17 pm

Davy, like you, nothing will save my family from the pain coming. Nothing. Waving a flag and supporting the cause of that pain is truly insane, yet you do it every day. I do not.

Do you ever consider the pain the US causes to other innocent families by the tens of thousands around the world because of your support of the empire? No, they are not important to you, but you try to make me look bad because I treat ALL families alike. Why should mine be “exceptional”?

You are the sick one, Davy. You prove it with every post.

  24. MASTERMIND on Tue, 20th Feb 2018 6:18 pm

The peak in conventional oil was a non event? Except for causing the Great Recession that almost collapse the worlds finical system.

And what massive wave of immigrants? Your scaremongering never ends!

Take your bullshit to Alex Jones website you retard!

I agree….We are headed towards a million civil wars and a million french revolutions.. And with all the guns the public owns…It won’t be pretty…

Explain millimind. Who in your view are going to be the enemy combatants? The Left and Right? I agree. And what color will The Right have? And (((who))) will be leading The Left?

And who will be standing by with a big grin? Europeans, Russians and Chinese. Europeans because regime change in the US means regime change in Europe, just like happened with USSR/Eastern Europe.

Russians will grin because the can become a major European power, without the US overlord and protect itself against the rise of China.

And China because it can grab Taiwan and virtually undefended Down Under.

Geopolitics is not rocket science, but rather chess for dummies with only 4 pieces (US, EU, Russia, China). Even kindergarten dropouts like you can grasp that.

Why don’t they investigate how much the Saudis or the Zionist paid and funded political figures in the US, Russia is a straw man hysteria created to keep a lid on white ambitions for their future. Trump is such a marshmallow he probobly thinks they will actually impeach him if he doesn’t do what he’s told.

  28. joe on Wed, 21st Feb 2018 1:45 pm

Sorry to tell you mastermind, if you’ve only been to Europe as a tourist in the last ten years you may still see the ‘europe’ they sell tourists but the truth of Europe and Britian is that it’s not ‘european’ any more. The parts that are, would be eastern Europe, western Europe is not very white in many parts and definitely not christian anymore. Europe is quickly become pro Russian. Cloggie is right about that, Merkel is finishing what Gerhart Schroder started by getting its main supply of gas from Russia, she is not a Russian apologist and she is using America to balance Russian power in Europe.

I agree with Kunstler on this one. He essentially put to pen my exact thoughts and messages on other boards with one exception. I didn’t think of a financial meltdown turning our attention away form the witch hunt, I just assumed an ever-escalating tit-for-tat until there’s a serious crisis that could lead to a hot war or MAD.
