Iran Seizes Cargo Ship; Pentagon Sends Destroyer
The ship manager for the container vessel boarded by Iranian forces declined to comment on the status of the vessel on Tuesday.
The Pentagon said earlier that the Marshall Islands-flagged Maersk Tigris was boarded by Iranian forces in the Gulf.
The Maersk Tigris is managed by Singapore-based Rickmers Ship Management, which is part of Hamburg-based Rickmers Group. A Rickmers Group spokeswoman declined to comment when contacted by Reuters about the vessel.
A spokesman for the world’s biggest container group Maersk Line said the vessel was on timecharter to Maersk Line, declining further comment.
Ship tracking data on Reuters showed the vessel was bound for Jebel Ali in the United Arab Emirates, although it was still close to the Iranian port of Bandar Abbas at 1530 GMT (1130 ET) on Tuesday. Its previous port was listed as Jeddah in Saudi Arabia.

Boarding a ship isn’t the same thing as seizing a ship. Let’s wait and see what is the real story.
But for now, what are Iranian ships doing on our ocean, widely known as the PERSIAN GULF, which, incidentally, is 10,000 miles from the U.S.?

Newfie, you are aware that the Iranians have an anti-ship missile the US Navy calls a “carrier killer”? That Iran has a 1.5 million man standing army, plus reserves? That, according to some estimates it would take 2 million men on the ground in Iran to try to contain it? That is the total of ALL US military together, including reserves. Not to mention that the UFSA would lose as it has in Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, etc.
Unless you have stock in a body bag company, you better hope the UFSA is not stupid enough to go to war with Iran. But then, Israel IS that stupid … and we would likely get involved.
Beside the fact that it would drive the US into another Great Depression or worse, start a shooting WW3 and bring the war to the 48. One hundred cities nuked the first hour in the EU and America? Game over!

Davy, replying like a 3rd grader does nothing for your argument. Denial of the UFSA imperial terrorism all around the world does not make it go away. The reality is that we are closer to a nuclear war than ever since 1945. Worse even than the Cuba incident.
I have no ‘agenda’ other than the fictional one you seem to think I have. I just have a real picture of the UFSA and world events view from OUTSIDE the MSM Iron Curtain of the Empire.
You are such an expert on the US military, tell me why they have not won ANYTHING since WW2 and even then, the Russia did their heavy work. Explain why the biggest military budget in the world, by multiples of the next closest, cannot win a war or even a battle with uneducated ‘rag heads’ using scavenged weapons?
