Sounds like a far more accurate title would be something like “air samples near oil and gas wells in CO showed significant levels of cancer causing chemicals”. Also far more responsible, since the study is unconfirmed.

Why no decent source links provided in the OP? The brief video is woefully bereft of real info.

Another anti oil hit piece meant to cause hysteria…Just like that fake ass movie “Gasland”..

We have two pro-cancer shills , do we have a turd, I mean third industry shill? Narrativeman? Where are you? We need your API, heartland, Rexxon-Mobil talking points. OC and the exceptionalist here are just the appetizers. We need the meat and potatoes of shilling, and that would be you. When you are done helping drill wells(oil wells that is) for children in the third world, or whatever, we need your cancer cartel talking points on this one.

Rehash all your standard boiler plate.

Tell us about the children, and how their lives have been made better through fraking. Imply the researchers are all hypocrites that drive….cars, and use computers, and eat…food. Remind everyone about the uS oil cartels charitable works, like how they oil industry insiders work selflessly around the clock in washindum DC to ensure amerika has the cheapest gaz-o-leen and the lowest corporate tax rates, anywhere.

If you find those don’t give the traction you are looking for, you can always just blame Putin, or Venezuela for this study and its conclusions.

So come on Narrativeman, show these amateurs and wannabes here how a REAL pro shills for the cancer cartel.

Weasel, what kind of dialect was that written in, dumbass?

Good old ananomouse1. Anyone with an opinion which is neutral is a “shill”.

Did I say the clip is false? No.

Did I say there is no cancer risk? No.

If you are honest and credible, Trump and HRC are “truth tellers”.

Meanwhile, in the real world, I’d like to see an article on a confirmed study showing hard data and meaningful proof on whether the air samples mean 8X (or other increased risk of cancer), or whether this is speculation or extrapolation, instead of scientific measurement of cancer rates.

Also, is the study big enough to be statistically valid?

But no, acting objective or like an adult seems to be beyond his/her capability. Sad, really.

Did you learn anything beyond histrionics in school, Anonomouse1?

OS, the weasel is struggling to be an engineer and it is clear why.

8x the risk of getting cancer! To put that into perspective, a 1 Sievert radiation dose, which is basically a lifetime dose if you live in a heavily contaminated fallout zone close to a major nuclear accident, will raise cancer risk by 25% and knock maybe a year off of life expectancy.

Absurd that we willingly subject people to toxic chemical pollution every day, but will risk poverty and starvation to avoid the millionth chance of people taking the same hit from radiation.

Maybe there isn’t intelligent life on earth.

Children living close to a petrol station have a 400% greater risk of leukaemia.

If the same thing were happening because of radiation, you would never hear the end of it.

New study confirms people reading peak oil sites on the internet have statistically higher occurrences of mortality than a control group.

Rates skyrocketed if they were wearing leisure suits while web surfing.

Seems pretty legit to me in terms of scientific partners (UCI Don Blake is widely recognized for his air sampling measurement studies). I think when numbers like 8x more likely makes it sounds like everyone is about to get cancer. 8 out of 10,000 is still a relatively small number, and when you consider all the other crap we’re doing, maybe not a big deal.

Colorado is risking going from having an image of being a fresh air paradise to the latest mini-Permian, so its something I think Coloradans might be concerned about.

anyone from colorado on the forum?

Those who smoke have higher cancer risk than a non-smoker. There! perspective. Anyone with an IQ above body temperature knows that petrochemicals increase the chance of cancer. If you are downwind of any such chemical source, your risk is higher. Logical, yes?

Best look at what else is happening in the world today to see why this topic is being used as a distraction.

    Don’t forget about Love Canal.

Sell your car, your house, move to the open country and live in the ditches, a new home every night awaits you. Sleep on the river banks in Louisiana all year round. Make your way from the Appalachians to the Rockies.

Take a walk to Uncertain, Texas, it’ll be a nice walk.

Forget about civilization, you don’t need it. You can survive by your wits and wing it all day long year in and year out.

You’ll be a seasoned traveller, a globe trekker non-pareil. Made it to the top of Everest, even.

Your light will shine in the Halls of Shangri-La.

Still going to cost you money, that never changes. Still will use fossil fuels no matter what, that is just how it is in the real world.

Somebody somewhere will be bombing somebody somewhere, humans suck at times.

    Have a nice day.
