ExxonMobil says to return to Russian Arctic once sanctions lifted

ExxonMobil says to return to Russian Arctic once sanctions lifted thumbnail

Glenn Waller, the head of ExxonMobil operations in Russia, said on Tuesday that the company will return to its joint oil project with Rosneft in the Russian Arctic once sanctions against Moscow are lifted.

The oil major had to withdrew from the drilling project with Rosneft in 2014 when the West imposed sanctions against Moscow for its role in the Ukrainian crisis.

ExxonMobile is the epicenter of falsehoods (Humble Oil-Qaeda).

    Who cares?

The uS’s sanctions are illegal, no basis in law and enforceable only through coercion.

Rosneft, or Russia does not need EM for anything. Last time I checked Russia was one of the worlds leading energy producers. So wtf do they need EM for?

  3. dissident on Sat, 10th Dec 2016 2:47 pm

    @Anonymous,

You are right. Exxon will be back only if Russia decides to engage in such charity. Probably to promote better relations with the USA which is a top priority considering how unhinged the American ruling class is today. Killary wanted to start WWIII.

  4. Davy on Sat, 10th Dec 2016 2:48 pm

Wonderboy, the Russians like EM and look forward to a renewed relationship with them so that is WTF. Your world of fantasy and ignorance is melting into the thaw of a Russian American detente. Poor boy, soon what will you have to whine about.

According to the WSJ, few U.S. citizens are closer to Mr. Putin than Mr. Tillerson, a recipient of Russia’s Order of Friendship, bestowed by the president…

    Extremely good news…

lol crackerboy. The only thing Russia ‘needs’ from the uS, is for it to stop trying to dominate the planet and disrupt normal trade and relations. Your an even bigger moron than usual if you think ‘detente’ is on the uS’s agenda. The uS and its mossadi friends are still very active in Ukraine, murdering ethnic Russians, and show no signs of de-camping from Syria, much less the ME any time soon.

Like I said retard, Russia doesn’t need EM, except perhaps symbolically, just as dissident says.

Can somebody explain to this low-life foul-mouthed fool the difference between president and president-elect? He won’t take it from me.

I understand that the closer you get to the polar circle, the slower the brain begins to function, but this is really pushing it.

Furthermore try to make it understand to this moron that this is not about EM, but about the personal relationship between Tillerson and Putin, which apparently couldn’t be better, so one can safely conclude that Trump is indeed investing in a good relationship with Russia, as he promised during the he would pursue.

    Now go catch a beaver.

Bring on the CANCER. I’m sure everyone wants more $Billion$ AGW jacked weather disasters.

A lovely graph here showing how the cancer monkeys carbon orgy has unleashed more costly disasters since the 1980’s.

Billion-dollar weather disasters are getting more common. A lot more common. The reason is man-made climate change, i.e. global warming. It’s part of the cost of carbon.

“The data come from NOAA, amounts are adjusted for inflation with the comsumer price index.”

Is denial the secret of humanity’s success?….(And it’s doom)

“This mind-over-reality theory is one explanation for why we are the only surviving human species, Dr. Varki said. (The book describes the process as a kind of “intellectual arms race.”)”

“In fact, if his theory is correct, it might also explain why we haven’t found intelligent life on other planets: Perhaps life there evolved much as it did here – depending on creatures that became fully aware of other minds and their own mortality, developed the denial mechanism and then blithely wiped themselves out, taking everything else along for the ride.”

    http://www.theglobeandmail.com/technology/science/is-denial-the-secret-of-humanitys-success/article12428138/

We live in a mental construction, he says, a sort of utilitarian fantasy, of our own devising. And it’s not a problem that it may not be a true representation of reality — in fact, it may be evolutionarily necessary.”

    http://bigthink.com/robby-berman/we-survive-because-reality-may-be-nothing-like-we-think-it-is

Half of people believe fake facts

    http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/newsandevents/news/half_of_people

Now the same evolutionary psychological adaptations that helped humans survive and come to dominate will be their undoing.

Most humans live in a fantasy world made up by propagandists, their culture and their own minds. It’s all about adapting, social cohesion, social acceptance and meaning. Any meaning will do as long as it makes them feel like they matter.

  13. Anonymous on Sat, 10th Dec 2016 5:12 pm

I was going to ask the same thing AP. And this supposed bromance between the two is doubly curious, when you consider the uS intended to use EM to gain majority control over Russia’s energy resources. Spearheading that effort, was the traitorous mikhail khodorkovsky. While I have no doubt the two could be perfectly cordial with one another, Im also certain the President remembers full well that EM tried to take control of a non-trivial share of Russia’s energy sector.

The president may not harbor any grudges against EM as such, but Im sure he knows if EM and its uS deep state backers, using Yukos as its stalking horse had succeeded, Russia would be a much weaker position today.

Like rocky says, the President, being the pragmatic Russian he is, can likely ‘work’ with EM, (just business right?). But cloggies purported bromance between the two likely consists mostly of wishful thinking and projection. EM needs Russia more than the other way around. Russia w/o EM, will do just fine. Of course, they could jointly work on projects that mutually benefit both parties, but this is true of Russia and ANY other major oil company, oilgarchy controlled, or public as well.

All Russia needs to do, is work with an oil company that chooses to ignore the uS’s illegal and retarded sanctions, if it so chooses, and let EM, Chevron and all the other sanction loving uS oilgarchs twist in the wind.

  14. Davy on Sat, 10th Dec 2016 5:22 pm

Tillerson is indeed a likely strategy form improved relations with Russia and collaboration on oil projects. Trump is showing some gonads with that choice. It is a smack in the face to the anti-Russian neocon establishment and shows a break with the past. Many things could derail this strategy but detente appears to be a possible outcome. There is no reason for the US and Russia to be adversaries. Can we ever be allies? Who knows but I imagine we can be something in between. At this time in history if we can take the cold war off the table that is one of the few success stories left for modern man.

  15. JuanP on Sat, 10th Dec 2016 5:42 pm

I hope the USA and Russia can improve their relations or at least keep them from getting worse, but I am not holding my breath. I am preparing for a future in which almost everything continues getting worse because the trend is clear. Presidents are irrelevant while Climate Change and environmental destruction keep getting worse. You have to be a fool to think that a planet that has 80 million more retards every year can get better. Things can only get worse. People who can’t accept this are living in denial.

Davy, there you go again trying to rationalize. No no no, Trump and his friends are getting ready to feast at neoliberal capitalism’s final banquet and none of the useless eater-useful idiots are invited.

    Extinction is the End Game

“Entire civilizations have been weeded out when their belief system proved maladaptive to a changing environment.”

“Truth be told, the corporate elite have long written off all those people living hand to mouth. Trump’s pick for Labor Secretary said, unlike workers, machines are “always polite, they always upsell, they never take a vacation, they never show up late, there’s never a slip-and-fall, or an age, sex, or race discrimination case.” Massive global unemployment resulting from the automation revolution has not yet been addressed by governments. Roughly half of all jobs in the U.S. are at risk of automation and two-thirds in the developing countries. This is all coming at a time when humans are fast destroying the ecosystems underpinning the very foundation upon which human civilization has developed over thousands of years. Mass migration of climate refugees will only further destabilize governments, stoke ethnic and cultural tensions, and give rise to fascist political movements. No conspiracy is needed to exterminate the “useless eaters”, just allow mother nature to take its course and climate change will be killing billions by mid century. Those in military planning know this and periodically express their fear of what is coming, but business-as-usual rolls on.”

“it’s been clear for some time that we have past the point of no return, triggering multiple tipping points in Earth’s living systems.”

No Rockman, this is not about EM anymore but between the the US and Russia. Putin doesn’t want to “cut America’s throat”, for starters he can’t (without cutting his own). This is about future US-Russian relations.

when did I say anything about the ceremonial ‘president’ of the uS in my comment?

You’re from Toronto? Well then I explain it to you again, this time slowly. If you think that Trump is going to be a “ceremonial president”, like his predecessors were, then you haven’t been paying attention to the reaction of the media and establishment. They know very well that Donald “I don’t need your money” Trump isn’t going to be a ceremonial lapdog. European-America has just hijacked the presidency from the youknowwhos. There is no reason for the US and Russia to be adversaries. Can we ever be allies?

Of course that’s not only possibly but also a geopolitical imperative. The West is facing a financial crash but China much less so. China with 1350 million IQ100 people is going to be the #1 power on this planet, eclipsing everybody else (US, EU, Russia). And that giant fact will dictate the behavior of the other smaller bullies.

  23. Davy on Sun, 11th Dec 2016 5:13 am

Ape man, there you go again trying to rationalize. Like I said in the past when you accuse me of it you are likewise rationalizing but in the alternative. What is the difference ape, your negative type or mine? Look, for all you that hate America and Trump this is the deal with Davy and Trump. Davy thinks Trump may initiate a détente with Russia. Trump may through the self-interest of nationalism withdraw significant forces from abroad and reduce interventionism. This will not happen because of enlightened self-concern for the rest of the world. It may happen because of enlightened self-interest of nationalism. This policy would save money for use elsewhere like probably more military equipment. This will not make America great again but it may allow it to decline at a slower pace. I know many of you anti-Americans can’t stand that thought.

I am not into politics except where it impacts my collapse thinking. Economic nationalism will destroy globalism. I am not sure the speed but it will happen because they are not consistent. This is all up in the air because POTUS only have so much power. Trump has many enemies in the rest of the DC establishment opposed to this new direction. So far, he as wrong footed all of them on both sides of the aisles. Trump is unpredictable and randomly adaptable. He is not a politician. He is a business man and will run his show that way. If any of you ever run a business then you would understand the mentality. It’s about a team and a plan. He is not about a party and an idea. He will use whatever he can to achieve “HIS” goals and win “HIS” game. He is about winning. A pure politician thinks differently about achieving power.

Détente is possible now with Russia and Trumpian nationalism will destroy globalism that is my main point. I will say this though he may start a new cold war with China that may be just as bad as the Russian one. This may be why he is chumming up to Putin. As far as the swamp, I doubt Trump will drain the swamp because you can’t drain it and get anything done. You would have to drain most of it and all his effort would be dedicated to that. Trump is an opportunist so he will use the swamp for his own ends. He can change the water level in the swamp to flush some of the swamp rats but he himself may turn into a swamp rat. Trump is going to be a notable president but not like others. He will be notable as one who destroys a status quo but little good will come of this except maybe a slower decline and maybe no WWIII. An economic collapse is around the corner and he will be blamed for it so in that respect for the history books (if there are any after) he will be looked upon as a failure even though it was going to happen anyway.

Yes, clogger, the trumpster is going to take on the NWO, head on. And ‘his’ brilliant plan for doing this? I guess stage one of this cant fail plan of his, is to surround himself with the pentagons Iraq ‘shock and awe’ dream team, the oily Rex tillerson (a regular man-of-the-people), the same Wall St firms that have been running the ‘fed’ for the last 40 years. Hes also approached other notable luminaries such as Ben Carson(of pyramids were used to store grain fame) and Mitt Romney(basically, a male version of hillary, intellectually speaking). The EPA will be headed by a shitter who is proud of the fact he used to SUE the EPA on a regular basis.

    And that’s just for starters.

Yea, clogger, the trumpster is pulling in a veritable who’s who’s of anti-globalist types to serve in his regime. Real Jill Stein types, the lot of them, lol.

He’s referred to Castro as a ‘Brutal dictator'(posthumously of course), and has already gone out of his way to offend China vis a vis his Taiwan gaffe. Cant wait to see progressive anti-globalist steps hell take once he ascends to the ceremonial throne room in the WH.

I know you’ve got a lot invested int his whole line of …..reasoning of yours. But the donald, is no Vladimir Putin, not even close. I mean, you still believe that fat retarded, zionist shill alex jones is the real deal too….

  28. Cloggie on Sun, 11th Dec 2016 7:39 am

But the donald, is no Vladimir Putin, not even close.

For starters Trump is certainly Gorbachev, who initiated the downfall of the Soviet empire by destroying Soviet political correctness, that is Soviet ideology (economic egalitarianism) by introducing Perestroika and Glasnost.

Trump did exactly the same by explicitly calling off US political correctness (racial egalitarianism). By doing that he placed a ticking time bomb under the US empire, the logic of which consists of attempting to impose political correctness (“kosher sharia”) over the entire planet (abolishing nations, total race mixing and everybody believing in the hollowcause), with one aim only: delivering the entire planet into the hands of the self-deified, Self-Chosenites, via the UN planetary government. And that grandiose project is going to fail miserably, just like their earlier Soviet attempt at global conquest failed in a grandiose manner.

    Thank God.

So Trump has already irreversibly delivered on the Gorbachev part. Before he can be a US Putin, he yet has to deliver on the Milosevic part. The USSR broke apart without a single drop of blood spilled. Such a scenario is not entirely impossible if the majority Dems states (both coasts) leave the union voluntarily via secession. I hope that happens. But that scenario is improbable for the simply reason: why should they voluntarily turn themselves in a third world country (or another Brasil rather) if they can keep feasting on European America. It is more likely that European-America will pull the plug on the union. Not now, but after Trump (assassination, impeachment, stepping down after 4 or 8 years).

Trump may pretend that he wants to make America Great Again (whatever that may mean) and that he is a civic, not a racial, nationalist, but Trump the shrewd businessman knows very well who constitutes his power base: whitey. And that will never change.

Trump is no Putin, for sure. But it is very obvious that Trump admires Putin, uses him as an example and seeks detente and even support from Putin. And Putin will return the affection. For him Trump is a God-sent.

And then there is Europe. The entire European Right likes both Putin and Trump:

Also clear is that Jones has a great resonance among the Trump voters. And his 9/11- and NWO-theories are essentially correct. That’s his political significance and that’s what I detect. Furthermore I absolutely do not take him serious in all his utterings. I can tell you for certain that my mom, unlike yours, did not have to suckoff Nazi soldiers for a crust of bread or bend over for a bar chocolate during WWII when the Nazis were starving the dutch to death

No Dutch ever had to suck off Nazi soldiers (or Canadians). That’s only the case in your feverish Eskimo brain, having watched too many Hollywood filth. The Germans saw the (even blonder) Dutch as their brothers and always treated them with respect in day-to-day life. Rare cases of rape by Germans were severely punished by the German authorities.

for a crust of bread or bend over for a bar chocolate during WWII

You are completely confusing the behavior of German and American soldiers, the latter ones were far less disciplined and even gently encouraged by their superiors to “have a good time” at the expense of not only the German, but also the French women. We were indeed relatively lucky to be parked in the US empire by Canadians, rather than Americans. Even in Britain the saying was about Americans: “they are over-sexed and over-here”. In general, men hate it to see presence of foreign troops in their own country, even if these troops are “friends”.

    http://www.spiegel.de/international/europe/new-book-reveals-dark-side-of-american-soldiers-in-liberated-france-a-902266.html

Actually the grandparents of my mothers side had a garage in Amsterdam, that was confiscated by the Germans. In the cellar they had German jews hidden (demanding ungrateful assholes, my grandfather later regretted to have sticked his neck out for them, risking his family). The relationship with the Germans was completely unproblematic; they signaled: do not make problems, so we won’t either. There never were problems.

    [part 2]

  35. Cloggie on Sun, 11th Dec 2016 12:25 pm

during WWII when the Nazis were starving the dutch to death

There was no German policy of starving the Dutch to death. 20,000 Dutch died from hunger and cold in the winter 44-45. Reason: “liberation” of the Dutch south, cutting off coal supplies from the mines in “deep south” (Limburg). Furthermore, there was a Dutch general strike, ordered by the Dutch government in exile in London, with which the Dutch shot themselves in the foot as no food arrived in big cities like Amsterdam, causing a catastrophic famine.

until the Canadians came along and rescued them

You never rescued us but instead ruined us. The war was a setup by the US, USSR and the UK war party around Churchill (not Chamberlain). Before you showed up we were a proud an independent nation with a huge empire. The Germans had never any intention to take us over. The best thing of course would have been if the Anglos and Soviets would have lost the war to begin with and Holland would still be 100% Dutch. But the Germans (11% world GDP) never had a chance against a force majeur USA + USSR + UK + France + Canada + Poland + Yugoslavia etc. (60%). The Germans, the core of the white race, were intentionally destroyed and raped on orders of uncle Schmul. Expect the next time the Canadians to be machine-gunned if you ever have the nerve to show up again. You parked us in an empire of which the leadership wants people like me and you dead. Now in 2016, we have a ruined America, a ruined Canada and 20 years behind a ruined Holland if we don’t do anything (don’t worry, big changes are underway, not in the least in North-America).
