For those of you using Firefox anyway. There's an extension called Chatzilla available here that gives you a basic integrated IRC client. Just click the Install Now link, select Install in the window that pops up, then restart Firefox after it's done. Then you should be able to simply click on the following link and Chatzilla should open and connect you to the Peak Oil chatroom.
You may or may not be asked to choose a nickname. If not and you don't want whatever the IRC gives you, you can change it by typing the command "/nick <Whatever>" (no quotes or <>, but you must include the forward slash) once you're in the chatroom.
It would be nice to see more people use the IRC. Not all of us have the ability to use TeamSpeak...

I'm with you, TWilliam. In fact, I refuse to use anything other than my IRC client for chatting. I'm not familiar with TeamSpeak. Maybe it's possible gateway it via bitlbee or the like.
teamspeak has integrated chat _________________ "When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours." - Stephen F Roberts.
I'm not so sure I'd go so far as to call it *integrated* Aaron. It's rather primitive and clunky compared to IRC for strictly text chatting... _________________ "It means buckle your seatbelt, Dorothy, because Kansas? Is goin' bye-bye... "
