Like the illusion of Wall Street, with its vast and powerful investment banks, now shuttered, China too is an illusion perpetuated by the Globalists that gave us the 15,000 mile Caesar salad, poisoned cat food and lead based paint on babies' pacifiers. Like the illusion that money would come from thin air to always push housing prices higher, China has spent a generation pursuing its illusion. Pursuing an unattainable dream to be like the West, while 6000 years of its carefully shepherded top soil blows into the sea.

So, yeah. The world is crumbling around our ears. The entire global financial system is going belly up. The US is preparing for martial law. Russia is about ready to start a nuclear war over Georgia. Hurricaines are raging. The planet's dying, etc., etc., etc.
I'm starting this thread because I can't deal with any more bad news at the moment. There will be no bad news allowed in this thread. I want to know what's going right in the world, and what's going right in your lives.
I'll start. I'm right now sitting in my office in Montana. It's a beautiful sunny day. The sky is blue. It's warm, but not hot. It's really quiet right now. In fact all I can hear is the ticking of the clock and a few cars off in the distance. Behind me an absolutely stunning sunset is forming. It's very nice and very peaceful.
So let's here it. What's your good news? _________________ "So while you sit and whistle Dixie with your money and your power.

We're getting all kinds of yummy fruit from our orchard and much earlier than expected. I didn't think we would have much until the fifth year.
The weather is beautiful with temps in the low 90s. Looking forward to fall weather. _________________ "Modern Agriculture is the use of land to convert petroleum into food."

My sons were recently promoted, my grandkids are smart and good lookin, I have lots of projects to work on, and I have plenty of beer in the fridge. Doesn't get much better than this.
Hope all of you are having an equally good day. _________________ "It don't make no sense that common sense don't make no sense no more"

Nice thread - "Good News" always makes me think of that modern version of the bible.
Rockin' grapes on the neighbors' vines. They were a retired couple who a few months ago finally had to move in with their son, like his father a minister. Lovely people and are still doing well in their mid-80s. Might make a pie or some vino. _________________ Cogito, ergo non satis bibivi

1. The biopsy was benign
2. I am feeling well and energetic
3. This glass of Gewurztraminer (on ice -- heck, ya, I drink it like that -- really cold -- really good) is tasting great
4. Saw a patient today whose mother told me that coming to see me (this was 2nd visit) was the first time she ever felt some one really listened to her -- and was really helping her little boy
5. When the Great Dane/English Mastiff dog chewed up the extension cord to the pond pump last night, it was unplugged
6. Seems like Naiobi (girl pig) might be pregnant
7. Got rid of all the predators, and the chickens are laying like crazy again
8. Got Annie (first horse) back from the trainer, and rode her all by ourselves for the first time this past weekend
9. Have hated peaches my whole life -- until we started getting them warm and ripe from out own trees. WOWIE ... peaches and cream. Yum, Yum!
We are blessed

Gerwurztraminer is one of our favorites, especially in autumn! My family is healthy, my job is extremely stable, and we have about 300 lb of high quality beef in the freezer. Times are still good for me. _________________ Whoso would be a man must be a non-conformist.
