I think this is the beginnings of an economy based on perpetual growth and fossil fuel energy running headlong into geological energy constraints. Basically I see an undulatory downward path for the rest of my life. From here out, I think any rallies in our economic condition are going to be met with spiking commodity prices that knock us right back down.

It's just a thought, but is there room for a Skills Share forum here, where members share skills, ideas and how-to's for survival. For example, if one person has experience in keeping poultry, they might prepare a small "how to keep poultry" guide for those of us who don't know how, if someone else knows how to salt fish to preserve it, they might give a small guide on that. Although I'm brand new here, I can see clearly the sense of community and comaraderie among the members, and this is exactly the kind of thing that will be needed if and when TSHTF. While the internet may go down and these connections lost forever, the lessons and skills shared will be passed on to others. _________________ We've tried nothin' and we're all out of ideas.
