Which country will USA attack in the next 12 months?

I see a lot of topics on USA's military strategy, but no clear opinions on what people think will happen.

This is not meant as flamebait or anti-Americanism, just wondering if there's anything approaching consensus on this matter.

I'll bite. I say none because I sincerely hope this to be true and because it wouldn't make sense strategically.

Just being objective, it would appear that the US military lacks the capability to sustain any sort of large ground operation at this time.

Furthermore, an attack on Iran, for example, would have devastating consequences on the US economy, in my opinion.

I said none for pretty much the same reasons. It's pretty clear the US population is tired of the wars they already have and would like to be done with them. They elected a Congress to do that job but it let them down. Now they're on the brink of electing a president who might. But I don't see a lot of people jumping up and down aching to attack Iran or Venezuela. If anything, the only place I can imagine force being used to crack right now is Burma, if only to feed the people there. And I don't think even that's possible.

I am not so sure the US population is steering US foreign policy. The next war is already being set up with lies like the last one. The bootlick media is once again acting as the propaganda channel of the neocons as if the Iraq mess never happened. Iran is the prime target, but Hezbollah will also get bombed. It will be another remote control video game war. I doubt the US will commit troops to Lebanon and Iran so there will not be much resistance from the citizenry.

I think, you guys love nitpicking.
Within few years it is very likely that US will set off proper nuclear world war, not just attack some odd country with few paddles of oil within its borders or with a lippy and despotic but unimportant leader.

Well I'm hoping California or maybe New York. Mexico is close, would be more economical to attack. Then there's assorted island countries in the Caribean. Obama did state that he had been to 57 states recently, perhaps he was actually describing his future foreign policy.

On the list right now are Iran and Venezuela.
Although I think they are more keen on Iran, I see Venezuela as a more palatable option. Let for instance conflicts with Colombia escalate and get involved in a small scale. Then you just need the right excuse to move in for a kill.
I think there would be less international issues arising from this than an attack on Iran. Especially with the risk of getting block traffic in the strait of Hormuz.

I don´t really think that government would dare to attack another such country because they already have enough of the hard time with those they are currently taking over.

And while the "venezuelan" keeps reciting good his forewritten script and selling them off their small dosis of energy, we are also on the safe side. Later ....... well, thats another such story.

I voted none because the US has no reason to attack Iran, the only thing that would precipitate such an attack would be Iran selling its oil in some other currency than the USD, then the US would have to give them a slap back into line.

Quick off the top of your head name 5 countries the United States hasn't attacked. It's not easy.

The United States will continue it's war against the united States of America. The united States of America is the Republic, the land where the Constitution is the law of the land. The United States is the organization created to defend the Constitution. As far as I can tell, the US hates the Constitution and tries to thwart it at every opportunity. If opportunities don't exist, they create them.

You need to read 1984; "the real war is against the citizens of the homeland," or something to that effect.
