Like the illusion of Wall Street, with its vast and powerful investment banks, now shuttered, China too is an illusion perpetuated by the Globalists that gave us the 15,000 mile Caesar salad, poisoned cat food and lead based paint on babies' pacifiers. Like the illusion that money would come from thin air to always push housing prices higher, China has spent a generation pursuing its illusion. Pursuing an unattainable dream to be like the West, while 6000 years of its carefully shepherded top soil blows into the sea.

Iraqi Shi'ite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr called on Thursday for a million-strong demonstration against the American occupation. The demonstration would take place next Wednesday April 9, the fifth anniversary of the fall of Baghdad, Reuters reported.

"The time has come to express your rejections and raise your voices loud against the unjust occupier and enemy of nations and humanity, and against the horrible massacres committed by the occupier against our honourable people," said a statement released by Sadr's office in the holy city of Najaf.

In a statement issued by Sadr office in the holy Shiite city of Najaf, Sadr called on Iraqi Sunnis, Shiites and Kurds to march to Najaf, some 160 km south of Baghdad, on April 9 marking the fifth anniversary of the fall of Baghdad.

He called on demonstrators to carry national flags to show their unity and demand the independence of their country, Sadr said.

Perhaps they should fly flags with circles enclosed in circles, I think they call that a target sign.

mos, You don't like Cid's news - you can turn on TV, change the page on your browser, and so on. You don't have to be bored by his news. Nobody ordered you to read his posts Smile

Mos was expressing an opinion. Since a picture is worth a thousand words, I thank him for being concise. He can do all those things you mentioned, or he can give his opinion as he did. "Nobody ordered you to read his posts either." No one ordered Cid to put up his post either. I must assume you only want one viewpoint expressed here.

But according to some, Sadr himself is a U.S. tool, used to instigate internal strife and division in Iraq.

O_o

Are you joking Fishman?
I've just seen that every time Cid posts something mos comes in, and starts to complain :D I think it's sweet Smile But maybe he shouldn't care what Cid posts.

He may post his news, why not? And I don't care about your assumption, it's just plainly wrong Smile

I would just like some evidence that Cid is a real person with something productive to say rather than just someone who scours the net 24/7 looking exclusively for things that make western civilization look bad or about to get bitch-slapped by the misunderstood underdogs. He seems much more interested in that political agenda than he is in peak oil per se. Kind of like Kuntsler's railings against the aesthetics of suburbia, which is less important than its sustainability.

I look for evidence on my assumption, your very post adds further evidence to my assumption. Cid provides his biased threads, thats certainly his choice. Why then in an open forum should mos not counter? Maybe he shouldn't care, but maybe he should care, and thus give his opinion, which clearly you don't like, which is your choice also. You seek to squelch his views. Prove otherwise.

Mos
I enjoy Cids posts, they're usually clearly biased, easy to counter with all the crap going on in the middle east outside Israel. He's a classic model for Twain's addage " better to have folks think you are a fool than open your mouth and remove all doubt."

It is your own predjudices that has prevented you from seeing what the policies of the Bush Administration has wrought geopolitically and economically throughout the world for the last 8 years and keeps you in denial still.

I present the the truth of the matter.

Instead of providing rational counter explanations, you attack the messenger.

Using the tactics of a small mind is unbecoming to you mos. Fishman doesn't have a choice, but you do.

Cid is one of my favorite posters here...shortonoil...steamy, TB, Dantes, seahorse (I and II), AC, Golem, and armageddon...make the A-team for me.

Light on tin foil...heavy on fact.

Keep up the good work Cid...

If you look for something hard enough, obssessively enough, you're likely to find it, while also filtering out all other data in the process that doesn't support your conclusions.
