Meanwhile, keep watching for shortage reports, because we should start seeing some sneak in this week, if our doom-o-meter is calibrated correctly.

Put away the doom party balloons, there's plenty of oil offshore:

Popular Mechanics Article

And it's hard not to argue with a simple fact: Shell and other oil companies aren't spending billions of dollars without believing that it'll pay off for years to come. "We're putting all of our free cash into oil and gas development," says Russ Ford, vice president of development for Shell. "We believe hydro-carbons will be there for a very long time. Nothing is going to knock down oil."

whfeew! And just in time too. Hey, hey, it feels like that scene in Independence Day where they finally get the alien shields turned off.

I can see Randy Quaid aiming that F-16 into the primary weapon and gleefully saying 'Hello boys! I'm back.'

The fattest lady of them all is about to go on a crash diet. A self fulfilling prophecy of self loathing when her suiters leave with the Jewels and watch comfortably from Europe while their plans come one step closer to fruition. Alot of people say the US collapse will take down the world. I doubt it. I think those nations are just timing their moves and when it comes they will cut the dollar in favor of the euro like nothing. The goal as so many have understood is to bankrupt America because a truly strong (and slightly still too puritanical) American middle class stands in the way of Sauron's plans. They've already taken it all away from us. And yes 'they' know who they are. Now the real pain begins for liberty. April Fool's Day is Tuesday.

Can they not predict the amount of oil in the underwater fields?

It's however much we need, plus a little extra.
