Hello,
I read this forum regularly and, although I can understand English discretely, I sometimes miss the opportunity to speak in Italian (my mother tongue) about peak oil subjects.
My direct friends are not POilers, neither my wife and my parents.
In Italy there is an active ASPO group, but they are a bit "technical" and probably their articles are not very palatable for the majority of the Italian people.
I think that it is a good initiative because I think that the more the peak oil subject enters mainstream debate, the more the common people will want to be informed and stay connected. For the majority of Italian people English knowledge is not so good and it is not useful to direct them to this site.
In a post peak scenario, at least until the Internet will stay alive, I think that people will want to act locally and reason with their language, for local problems and solutions.
I don't know if also in other Europe countries there is a "local' peak oil forum in the local language, but I think that eventually this will become the norm.
I wonder if it would be possible to have a "global" Peak Oil portal, with subsections in all languages, a kind of "PeakOilPedia" (like wikipedia), in which people around the world can speak of the same subject (Peak Oil) in their own language.

sydneypeakoil.com has a worldwide directory of peak oil groups on this page:

Italy is not on their list. Maybe you could tell them.
I think peokoil.com here is like a de facto whole world forum, using English as the lingua franca.
