They have been doing it for a couple of weeks now....but only for those of us outside the UK. The trigger was the last review of funding for the Beeb, where the government did not allow the license fee to go up as much as was needed to provide the same standard of services. One result is those of us who are not in a position to pay the license fee will have to see selected adverts.
