How many children do you have?

I'm just curious. There's all this talk of whether it would be morally desirable to cull the human population because there's too many of us. Simultaneously most of the worlds humans are busily engaged in trying to crank out new little humans as fast as they possibly can. I wonder if people even here are willing to take the minuscule little step of not popping out a bunch of new little humans to add to the die off pile. Is your money where your mouth is? How many new people have you added to the overshoot? We're talking children that you either gave birth to or sired. Adopting children that were already here doesn't count.

I have three, but two of them came along before I knew about peak oil.

The latest one was the product of natural processes and desires that occurred in spite of what my rational mind understands about the world.

I suspect this sort of thing is happening everywhere.

I'm not either. But I am strongly opposed to procreation. I'd much rather kill a sperm than to have people talking about killing a three year old.

Yep. Zero. If the aftershocks of PO are half as bad as I predict, I wouldn't want my kids to experience that turmoil.

I will reconsider this position after Earth moves beyond the transition from an oil-centric world to a petroleum-free world ...... at which time life might actually become pretty nice.

Two grown sons, 30 and 28, who are both neither married nor do they have children.
Anybody got any extra grandkids I could spoil once in a while? :lol:

I do not intend to take any lives, except to save my own; I am not in favor of prolonging life for those adults who will not work to save themselves.

Edit: I am now a Mom-in-law!

I really hope you're not serious. :/

Before you proceed any further, you and your wife need to watch "Soylent Green"...at least three times. Then you might wish to reconsider.

I'm not against people having kids, I just a firm believer in the saying "One Is Enough"
