Over the last week, I relocated my equity investment portfolio and basically moved myself out of stocks entirely. Now I have pretty much an evenly split fund between Gold ETFs, Food ETFs, and Treasuries. This seems to be holding steady. The move wasn't without cost, I lost over 3K last week.

Observations or advice from anyone else here?

What's your food ETF?

I personally can't imagine any scenario where stocks would be a good investment. Everything is still being priced for future earnings growth similar to the past. At some point the market will see that there will not be earnings growth similar to the past. Things will be repriced at that point, and I do not want to be in stocks when that happens.

I have. My cash allocation has been lowered 10% over the last month. I put the funds into some copper mining stocks.

I've been monitoring the ETF scene, and there are maybe a couple of picks : DBA for the agricultural commodities, and MOO (yeah, really) for the agricultural companies.

But I'm not long either of these myself. Oh sure there's money to be made, what with wheat recently making yet another all-time high, but I'm not sure about making money this way in the battle of food versus fuel.

I think the US will hold on for quite a few years and the stock market will recover fully and continue to go further. This wont happen overnite or even in 2008 but will definitely happen in the next 2-3 yrs. I'm 25 yrs old. I have to invest both in myself and financially to succeed if I live a full life.

Ever hear of stock market cycles? Bear markets and bull markets tend to last 20 years-ish. I think you are probably swimming against the current here.
