The post wasn't about guns. It was about a guy losing his job, went through bankruptcy, and lost it. He probably felt that he had nothing else left to lose and wanted to get some kind of retribution and wondering if we will start to see things like this more and more often.

Sice you did bring up the gun issue though. I wonder if he would have been disinclined to carry out his venture if everyone in the office building were carrying a loaded gun. Going on a shooting rampage is a breeze when you are the only one with a gun, gets a little more difficult when your not the only one packing and you are greatly outnumbered.

Well, depends on if his thought he would get away with it or not I guess. Didnt seem so to me.

But, more guns means more shootings. Thats obvious. Still, there are a lot of other factors involved ofcourse, sutch as societys wiew of guns. There is a hell of a lot of firearms in sweden, but, it is not discussed, it is not glorified and nobody thinks they are there for protection from other people, it is not made an issue of and it is not weapons primarly design to kill other people but moose and other wild animal ( we have a lot of them)

In the states, my impression is that you glorifies weapons, think you are unsafe without them, This is a issue heavly discussed and you put a lot of money and time on your weapons. It is not strange you have a lot of shootings. However, it is a global problem, people and weapons, not an american.

Liberals?? socialists, yes, most swedes are socialsts, but liberals are few and far between in Sweden.

I am a Swedish - American gun toting liberal. I am not crazy about the whole guns and macho thing, but living here it is a bit of a neccesity.

Everybody else is armed to the teeth, so I am too, reluctantly.

There are so many other armed people that it's like keeping up with the Joneses.

I don't think that guns make you safer, but locking your doors makes sense here now.

I live in rural Maine, but there have been many burglaries and home invasions near here recently.

I used to think that guns were unnessesary, but I am sadder but wiser now.

So...what might be the excuse of the regular murderers and such?
