Umm, a fabrication all right. The internet is a fabrication.

Yes it is, as it did not exist before it was created, and no plans to develop Arpanet existed before it was in active development. Conveniently enough, 4071 RFCsexist to document the creation of Arpanet, and the evolution of the Internet from this Vincent, (in the computer world), network.

Yeah well, the terrorists aren't killing any of those American muslim are they?

I dunno why I'm defending them, but I guess I can understand why noone protests against something that they don't really feel threatened against.

And I haven't seen anyone protesting against African wars either where the number of deaths in the last 10 years exceed the number of deaths caused by terrorists in the last 10 years by more than a tousand times.
Nobody even talks about it.
All I hear is how muslim women are treated and boo and bah, but when I checked for fun which country had the most 18-25 year old women compared to the number of men, which turned out to be Sierra Leone, I discovered that almost all of Sierra Leone's women from age 10 to above are mutilated. And like the headscarf and the burka, they have several degrees as well. From tip off to all gone and sewn up.
Why do I never hear anything about that? It's cruel! Even more cruel than a bhurka imho.

By the way, I have the feeling this 'news item' is created only to influence peoples already angry moods who like to take their prejudiced opion proved in any way.
It's not even news really, as it's obviously a non-event, in any other case it wouldn't reach the little green footballers, so it's just another moodsetter.
They don't even explain why there's such a low turn out. For all I know the demonstration could have been organized by someone who can't even organize his own laundry.

Just to rub these peeps in :P, how many americans protested when Al-Qaeda killed hundreds of Africans in 1998?
I'm pretty sure it's less than this turnout.
I ain't blaming them though, because.. well, the terrorists weren't killing any of those Americans on the mainland were they?

This thread should be deleted. You're giving them ideas. You are going to single-handedly give the terrorists the idea hat is going to end the world!

JK:)

I'm sure they have something in the works like what you've said. Let's hope they get foilded.

Also they've been attacking Iraq's oilfields and infrastructure for a while now. It's ridiculous. We can't stop them from bombing the oil infrastructure. We have to now.

Terrorists can and will cripple America. Passing the Patriot Act was one of their first steps to do so.

Good one SmallPoxGirl.

Oh, you mean Al CIAda.

Yeah, if you decide you want to take your country back. Sure.

The greatest impact would be some form of middle east attack. Given the political sensitivity of Iraq that would be the ideal location for destruction of refineries and drilling locations. Next obvious target would be Saudi.

I suggest you read "Lights Out!", "Lost In Alabama", and "The Decline and Fall of Pax Americana" These stories deal with exactly this subject matter. Although these stories are ridden with grammatical errors, they are very good stories nonetheless.

Been there. Scary stuff that. Got pulled over once in a small town in Alabama for having a dirty lens on my license plate illumination light.

i dont really understand al qaeda - assuming they even exist. why do they insist on killing innocent civilians (along with some coalition troops), when all they have to do is take out a couple of pumping facilities at ghawar and send the world into chaos?

weird.

I must say linlithgowoil, my thought exactly. Another thing, we all know how easy it is to get a gun in America. If you wanted to really freak out Americans, and you were a terrorist why not have a McDonalds type gunman attack except at 10 or 20 different locations all over the country more or less simultaneously. No great planning involved in something like that, no flight training, little or no logistical backup. Baffling.
