I think it's weird there too, that's why it was on the news.

Its not paederasty if Putin did it.

Its not paederasty if Putin did it. If I was the parent, I would have been worried Putin was trying to EAT the kid.

The stupidity ratchets up another notch or two...when I was a kid this would have been a detail in a sci-fi short story to show how alienated and weird society had become... wtf?Quote: Only council-vetted "play rangers" are now allowed to monitor youngsters in two adventure areas in Watford while parents must watch from outside a perimeter fence.
The Watford Borough Council policy has been attacked as insulting and a disgrace by furious relatives who say they are being labelled as potential paedophiles.
Council Mayor Dorothy Thornhill argued they are merely enforcing government policy at the play areas, in Vicarage Road and Leggatts Way.
She said: "Sadly, in today's climate, you can't have adults walking around unchecked in a children's playground and the adventure playground is not a meeting place for adults.

Folks who work in school systems tend to be dime-store Nazis. English people tend to be prudes. Australians come from English folks and Scotts-dominated English. Thus you get dime-store Nazi prudes there in Australia. Geoff

Geoff A lot of mighty sweeping generalisations there Unc...I am sure dime-store nazis can be found in any nation, any workplace and peeking thru the blinds of many a neighbour... and that puritan heritage would probably give the US a good chance in any international prude-off These instances of hysteria/paranoia are not limited to any one country(remember the 'ritual satanic abuse' panic in the eighties? The US led the charge in that truly bizarre witch-hunt), and just cos England and Oz are showing some fine examples right now is no reason to think it won't happen again in your own backyard, or mine...
