WI_Cur, could you please edit your last post and please remove the reference to the person you quoted? I was hoping this thread would stay civilized. Once we put names it will turn into a flaming thread and defeat its purpose. Thanks!

Yeah, it's much better if we just write off his administration now than to allow ourselves even a modicum of hope. BTW, don't you mean 4 years? You think Obama's going to be a two-termer? (Well, if Palin runs, that's a given).

Action from whom? From a president who hasn't even taken office yet?
Hell hath no fury like a peak oiler with oil under $40 bbl. No hope too modest to bash. No doom too absurd to predict.

From us all. We have a few rights left to act upon yet we lay like cattle waiting for a knight in armor to save us.
We have the right of free speech...wait only if they let us
We have the right to protest...wait only if we want to go to jail
We have the right to contact congress...wait only if you have money for their pockets
Never mind i guess we're screwed. lol... wait this ain't funny.

On a global financial scale I think merging of currencies will occur. The Euro is the most likely candidate as it has continued to expand over the years, so sometime is 2009 the U.S. will no longer have the largest GDP but he Eurozone will be have the largest economy as more countries around the world adopt the Euro.
I think also that if oil prices continue to drop or remain low then I think OPEC will peg prices to the Euro instead of the dollar.
I don’t know how the U.S. will adapt to the above scenario but surely and hopefully our governments are planning for it so live gets better.

Quote: The only people stupid enough to buy BIG SUVs and pickup trucks now, are the ones that are stupid enough to believe that these low gas prices are here to stay. In that respect, in the not-too-distant future, they will get their just deserts.
And I suspect they'll have their hands out looking for a "bailout" as well. And our new government after January 20th, will gladly give it to them. After all, the MESSIAH would not dare turn them down, or they will not vote for him in 2012.

Ludy, are you going to keep tabs on who made these predictions and maybe link back to the original threads?

That's not the intent of this thread, to keep track of who made the predictions, but I can remember who made several of them.
