I think this is the beginnings of an economy based on perpetual growth and fossil fuel energy running headlong into geological energy constraints. Basically I see an undulatory downward path for the rest of my life. From here out, I think any rallies in our economic condition are going to be met with spiking commodity prices that knock us right back down.

Almost all of the beans that are grown to be dried/shelled beans (like kidneys, navy beans) are bush beans, not pole beans. You should be able to grow them without staking. For those that are pole climbers, I usually put a small section of 2x4 wire fencing between t-posts for them to climb on. It's always worked well.

I'll tell you our story.
Fava beans generally don't require staking, but ours all blew over in a fierce wind in early June. So we tied them all up. They did just fine after that. If you live where nasty wind can pop up, it might be a good idea to be ready to tie them. They usually have weak stalks. _________________ Got Dharma?
