I don't think many of us who have made changes to be somewhat self-sufficient are eagerly awaiting a crash so we can put our preparations to the test . I like gas and engines and cars and electricity in those convenient little holes. I'm not a "green" guy who wants to get back to nature and commune with the trees. Furthest thing from it . Hate camping unless it's in a fully equipped travel trailer or winnebago , preferably with a TV and internet dish on top. I can't see everyone reverting to the 1800's when the infrastructure collapses , those energy cats have been out of the bag for a long time . It may be too late (IMHO) to convert to new / renewable energy sources on a large scale but MANY will continue living as they do now . We know how to manufacture small amounts of energy for personal use now , I have solar panels (uninstalled) , and blueprints and permits for energy ethanol production. I just don't see a pressing need to switch over yet , I can still afford 3.00 per gallon gas ...

Your arguments are reasonable and certainly within the realm of possibility carlhole, I also kinda hope your right and we all come out smellin' like a rose.(I got it pretty good). But the pragmatic side of me says PMS is dead on, I've seen NO evidence of either the will or ability of men/woman to take ANY steps to soften the impact of the coming shitstorm. Besides that ,if mankind continues to destroy the planet I'm kinda hoping mother nature gets fed up and bestows a rightous ass-whooping on us regardless. I'm kinda wishing alot of these evil pricks that are screwing everything up get wiped out. Is this wicked of me?

karma is a bitch, like it or not. if we continue this degenerative, devolving path towards being the farking disease of the biosphere, we deserve extinction. pain in this case is deserved... and yes, I'm preparing for the possibility of dying before getting to 30 and leave no offpsring behind...
Got a better life form to prepare for, and I hope that my new fellow companions in the Path are less pathetic than this lame excuse of a concious living form that is proud to call themselves "homo sapiens, the center of the universe". Is my hope in humanity getting weaker? Well, yes... humans have to probe themselves that they want to change... I just want to pull the trigger on a purge of crappy humans so that survivors start the transition to higher consciousness... if I could just find such a trigger.

I never said I'm enlightened.
I prefer to be on the dead group, not even leaving genes.
I actually said that I'm preparing to die at a young age, what I may not have said is that I've already abandoned the hording materialistic dream of crap.
I'm tired of not finding an enlightened teacher and of not acchieving Nirvana.

If I have to die the instant that I pull this trigger I'm more than prepared for this, bring this farking environmental correction!
I still have hope for humanity, it's badly beaten but still there, basically this trigger should give the option: devolve and commit suicide OR evolve and make some though behaviour changes.
