Malaysia should always be on its toes and protect its biggest palm oil market, China, from being overtaken by its nearest rival Indonesia, plantation industry officials said.
As it is, Indonesia, which is the world’s second largest palm oil producer, will surpass Malaysia within the next two to three years simply because it has more land mass.
But this does not mean that Malaysia should allow its market position in China to shrink as well.
