Andrew Harvey and Carolyn Baker on Return to Joy

Return to Joy is a compelling and potent invitation to the reader to consider that joy is the ultimate nature of reality and that its absence lies at the root of the current, unprecedented global crisis. In this book, Andrew and Carolyn mine the mystical wisdom of the ages that places joy at the core of our existence and purpose as a species, moving forward to consider in depth the myriad enemies of joy in our time. Looming large among these is the personal and collective shadow which must be confronted directly if we are to reclaim our birthright of vibrant living in a spiritually and emotionally anesthetized culture.

We are nowhere near Peak Joy.
    Thanks to Prez Trump,
we should be close to Peak Hate.

Come on, “ultimate reality” what a bunch of fake feelings out of lost souls. How about the Ecos within the solar system within a universe? That’s some bad ass reality. Joy may be a part of the universe but as far as we know it can only be found within a few “high on something” humans who think they are the ultimate expression of the universe in some perverse confused exceptionalism. Large brains mixed with primitive emotions have these tendencies. There is likely life elsewhere so maybe they have joy too in this case we may have universal joy. Does universal joy include viruses? You ever been high on something whether that is life, a joint or an orgasm? If so you know it doesn’t last. It is kind of hard to hold on to joy and should we? Some of our best moments come from overcoming sadness and failure. If you feel joy then be happy don’t try to ruin it by having it and worshipping it.

More like the ultimate reality in some kind of timeless other than human reality is the Universe and on a universal level I am pretty sure it is ambivalent to joy. You know the universe is busy expanding and contracting. That is likely its ultimate joy. If you see complete connectivity then maybe you could see “joy” as one expression of the universe in its expansion and contraction. You need to include dread to have harmony if you see that in human duality there are opposing states of reflection. You can’t know one without a reference to the other. Frequency produces a wave and it is the modulation that creates variability.

Going into this very dangerous and painful time let’s try to avoid too much touchy feely BS and focus on mental hospices instead. What will be special is to live to die another day. A hot meal and a warm bed will be nice. Knowing a brutal army is not on its way might be a relief.

    hmmm,

” Return to Joy is a compelling and potent invitation to the reader to consider that joy is the ultimate nature of reality and that its absence lies at the root of the current, unprecedented global crisis”

    re=writes as

” Return to the Joy of Shopping is a compelling and potent invitation to the reader to consider that joy of shopping is the ultimate nature of reality and that its absence lies at the root of the current, unprecedented global crisis”

Go out and buy stuff ! ( again )

Am still enjoying Trump’s victory every. single. day.

Peak hate… that’s the events between 1941-1945 in Europe, the summit of viciousness. You have very low standards in defining “hate”.

Joy is normal in life, especially if you are older and if you don’t feel it, you are doing something wrong, think too much or wrong thoughts, eat wrong, don’t sleep enough.

Lying on your lazy sofa while listening to a podcast, that’s joy. The smell of coffee, thinking about where to buy the Christmas tree that’s joy. Just bought a second simple composter to set up in the garden to store tree leafs in, eliminating an ugly big bag, that’s joy. Watched “Escape Plan” yesterday night (Schwarzenegger & Stellone) with a glass of Spanish wine, that’s joy. Posting or running a blog is joy. Had twenty wheelbarrows of soil filtered today from couch grass in my vegetable garden after I finally got rid of large tree-roots:

…in the sun with mild frost.

Making gardening plans for next year in Evernote, that’s joy.

Cycled to a local department store (HEMA)…

…to have hot chocolate and soup, while reading twitter on my phone, that’s joy. OK, I am lying, that’s reading gab.ai after the latest twitter purge from deplorable sources.lol

It’s called living vicariously. A much practiced pastime of losers and mental patients.

    Me? I prefer schadenfreude.

Trump admits ‘some connectivity’ between climate change and human activity

Don’t spend all your anger at once little Trumpeters, there are plenty more betrayals to come. Baha

1936-1942 or so was peak joy if you were a National Socialist. They had about as much to do with Socialism as Trumpism has to do with Democracy. Irony is joy.

Here is some “Peak Joy” for you…

    http://www.ibtimes.com/pine-island-glacier-west-antarctica-melting-inside-out-2451579

“That Antarctica — a region that contains enough ice to raise sea levels across the globe by over 200 feet if it melts completely — is in trouble due to climate change is no longer news. However, exactly when global warming will push this fragile region beyond the point of no return is not entirely clear — although if the raft of studies whose results were published this year are anything to go by, it’s likely to happen sooner than later.”

When it does, most of the East Coast of America will be under water as far inland as the Smoky Mountains and the Appalachians. Almost every city in the world connected to the ocean by a river, will be under water. I could tell you more but I wouldn’t want to ruin your day. lol

Being a target of American imperialism is indeed less of a joy.

The victory of Trump btw is the victory democracy pure, totally against the architecture of the US political system/deep state.

The good news (for Europe) is that kharma is a bitchy boomerang, about the hit the American skull. America is about to descend into chaos. Don’t believe me (after I all I might be a goosestepping Euro Hollywood-Nazi), just read the post above by makati, one of the first US political refugees, not unlike thousands of Russian folks, who in 1917 didn’t wait for the blessings of Bolshevism and decided to flee to Europe.

Call me arrogant, but it will be us Europeans who are going to decide if European-Americans are going to end up in a Soros-SJW-BLM-gulag (if Paris-Berlin-Moscow won’t intervene in the coming troubles) or in a Mississippi basin subsidiary of the coming Euro-Siberian Gross-Allianz of 700 million, necessary to balance 1350 million IQ100 Chinese and keep Islam of 1.5 billion out.

    Questions?
    Nein?

Won’t happen in my lifetime. And just as everything in life has a beginning and an end, Holland won’t be different. In the end I will complete my life in my home country, unlike you.

Ah well, we are people of the Seven Sees, always have been.
