I love The Walking Dead. Shaun of the Dead is a movie I can watch over and over. I will definitely be checking out Zombieland.

If you like your post-apocalyptic movies really bleak (but without zombies), I recommend The Road. And almost, but not quite so bleak: Children of Men.

GHung - "We 'create' zombies so we won't look so bad by comparison." Which is exactly what I consider is a major contribution of mine to this site: I provide a big dose of moral superiority for a number of our cohorts here. LOL.

Some pretty good political/socio-economic commentary in a lot of Z movies. As well as some pretty thought provoking moments.

All Romeros's films have very clever sub-texts.

WWZ has lots of silly continuity errors from the very start where they are stuck solid in traffic but suddenly there is enough room for a garbage truck going 50 mph, and Brad Pitt finds an RV (in Manhattan) that easily navigates the traffic jam.

Unrealistic I agree , but so is any Z film - continuity. The garbage truck forces it's way through at high speed creating the road.
