Where are new viewers to PO coming from?

I noticed a marked increase in visitors to PO.com since May, and trend appears to have accelerated this week with especially heavy traffic on some threads. For example, there were about 900 visitors to the US Weekly Inventory thread in 24 hours from yesterday morning until this morning.

Are other web sites now referring visitors to PO.com, or is it just some firewall in China that temporarily went down?

I noticed earlier today that there where a crapload of people visiting. About double what I am used to seeing.

I *hope* this means people are paying attention.

I expect more to come where the news about PO becomes more widespread, after all this is number one site when you google with "peakoil" word and 4th with "peak oil"


probably after all the PO related stuff happening people start to wake up, Bush with his addiction, iraq war - a lot (if not the most) believe it was the oil, price at the pump, hydrengne car (scam), ethanol all over the news (another scam) etc... with news like that all over the place no wonder some people end up on this site

I'm a newbie - I first looked at Peak Oil a couple of years ago, but got distracted by other interests.

Then a few days ago Petraeus (sp?) said the US would be 15 years in Iraq and then I knew Peak Oil is here and now.

I first figured out that is 'was here' when BP started the 'green' energy commercials.

Kind of hard to be that obvious without some people thinking beyond the dialog.

Thanks Aaron, and welcome all newcomers. Those new to the site will see that there is quite a diverisity of opinion here, hopefully not so much that it will confuse anyone trying to learn about PO.

So it appears that most new viewers come here by searching for news about peak oil, as master_rb said, and not by refferal from some other web site. Interesting, PO is really a grass roots concept for most.

Interesting that Monday seems to be the highest day. The weekends are noticeably lower. That says that a lot of people are viewing this while goofing off at work.
