OOOOHH, gravity means that time travels in cycles. Wow, you must be an astrophysicist. Not sure what mentality you exibit there. I think we now do have an example of a circle jerk however.

Not those 3 days of dark yet but I bet we are getting close to reveal that this world is a description of thought, held up by reason and internal dialogue.
Check out this Dynamo dude, he is using his double in a funny way, he learned to control his energetic body, a copy of his physical body but way more powerfull and flexible. Being at two places at once, two perceptions, two lives simultaniously as we all do but then with control, aware of our total being.
Please try explain his tricks by reason.

He is using a mask, under cover of being a magician but is actually showing us what can be done, this world is not an illusion but not at all what we tell ourselves.....it is much more, infinity all around, the universe for personal exploration, a personal affair.
I bet humans before culture had a better, more realistic vieuw of our surroundings.
Petty reason cannot grasp this magical being here and now.

http://www.dynamomagician.com/

I loved his show on Rio, he left like jezus floating in front of that statue.....impressive.
I am very happy we are all not dead....yet.
Enlarging our perception and power is the only bug out we will have left when things get too tough to get going with our organic part, physical body.

It's a calendar machine, lining up the year underline gives the correct day of the week alignment to the date.

I couldn't decide if dolanbaker's question was serious. I was going to answer:
It's mysterious workings are lost knowledge of the ancients. We can only hope to decipher the cryptic inscriptions.
Mine came with a 1960 Time Magazine subscription. In 1987, Time got many requests to provide a new one, but didn't. Not the end of the world, though.

It doesn't seem that anyone has made the Mayan version:

Thanks, I guessed that it was something like that, just I've never used or seen one.

The December 21, 2012 date for the Maya was a theory.
There was more than one.

The team led by Herbert Spinden maintained the long count started in 3373 BC.
The team led by Edward Thompson thought it began in 3113 BC.
So there was a 13 katun fudge factor in whatever it was that might happen.
It's pretty obvious the old priests were hiding the knowledge or had lost the bubble altogether.

The Tizimin Book of the Jaguar Priest has some interesting end of world ideas.
We will see which of them happens to come true and when.
Supposedly, the dating all got sorted out with carbon 14 dating at the Temple of Tikal
and the Thompson team eventually won the argument.

To discredit a theory, you require facts or credibility.
And right now, you have just one fact.
Whatever someone said could happen on December 21, 2012 apparently didn't.
Good for you if this strikes you as incredibly funny.
The alternative is to consider whether what they said could happen later.

I wonder if anyone actually killed themselves this time around. I mean this latest 'end of world date' seemed to me to be even less likely than any recent one, so I'd imagine there would be fewer related suicides. On the other hand, there are a lot of nutters out there.

My only fear was that some nutter would end it all and bring a few with them! Fortunately, that appears not to have happened, but I see now on the news that someone has just shot a few firemen in the US.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-20838925
Two volunteer firefighters have been shot dead and two injured while responding to an emergency call in the town of Webster in New York state.

It appears the four were fired upon as they arrived at the scene of a fire early on Monday morning.
