Turkey-Iran gas pipeline blown up in eastern Agri province, energy minister Taner Yildiz said on July 28, Anadolu Agency reported.
He said that the explosion caused panic among local people.
Turkish air force destroyed the military camp of Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in Hakurk in Iraq’s north July 27.
It is the second PKK camp bombed by Turkish air force in the last two days. Earlier, Turkish air force bombed the PKK camp in Metina in Iraq’s north.
Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu previously said that the Kurdistan Regional Government in northern Iraq supports Turkey’s operations against the PKK.
Turkish air force started large-scale operations July 25 in Iraq’s north where the PKK camps are located. No details of the operation have been reported.
Turkish Parliament adopted the so-called Syrian mandate in 2012. Under this mandate, Ankara is empowered to take any measures against terror and other threats against the country, repulse the threat that can come from terrorist groups in Iraq and Syria, protect the country’s interests before and after the crisis, as well as, in the case of necessity, to involve the army in the military operations in other countries (Syria and Iraq).....

& the solution/ send in more arms. Currently the same airport is being used to drop aid to the same PKK as to drop bombs on them. That's how much of a handle Obama's people have right now, close to none. Obviously they forgot about the ancient Turkish enmity with the Kurds? Watching Kurdistan form not as a US protectorate, but as a fully consolidated country, with substantial resources & a kick ass army is clearly making Turks nervous- as they should be after fighting to maintain British drawn borders which spited the most naturally democratic people in the region by drawing a line through the middle of their territory & dividing it in approximate halves. Kurdistan has reemerged & will have a view to reclaiming what was stolen from them in Turkey.
The more this drags along the more obvious it is engineered to delight the military industrial complex. IS have resurrected the days of heads on spikes, no prisoners warfare, child suicide bombers, the works. Instead of being cut off, prevented, they have been allowed, enabled. Token bombing runs to keep the appearances of fighting them up, bulk arms to anyone in the region ready to swear on the Koran to 'get Assad'. The MIC rubs it's hands in glee as ancient conflicts become lines of business likely to last as long as the last great oil deposits do.

Actually the US defines the PKK as a terrorist organisation so I doubt they are dropping aid.

No other conclusion even seems possible unless one assumes complete incompetence is in control. It always comes down to raping the money out of a situation while common folk die. It has always been this way and probably always will be until we are back to where we started from, waring tribal groups with some" attaboy, go get those _______". Holy smokes, the future is now. And the conflict comes home with subway bombs and mass shootings. And still ammo will be sold.

Yes, they're not dropping it to the PKK though. Not intentionally anyway.

Yep. Arms are expensive, & when there's a need, an immediate one, they become top priority, even over eating. Yet what are they mostly? Machined common metals & explosives. The real high tech killer bots are using technology found in a common smart phone & self correcting flying toys. Packaging & selling these death machines is absurdly lucrative & is sanctioned by international treaty.

These groups share the ideology and tactics of ISIS, the only difference being their willingness to work with the United States and Turkey. It’s entirely likely that once the “safe zone” operation starts, many ISIS troops will simply change shirts and join Jabhat al-Nusra, since there is no principled difference.

The Kurds have been good US allies in the fight against ISIS and Assad, but its pretty clear the US quietly agreed to betray the Kurds and acquiesce to the Turks bombing the #$%* out of the Kurds in exchange for the Turks giving US warplanes access to their airbase.
A perfidious move by Obama, to say the least.

Considering more international volunteers for IS are Turkish than anything else, most of their arms supply is either smuggled through Turkey or openly sent through there to so called moderate rebels. Most of IS money still comes from smuggling oil to Turkey, if you really believe your first sentence, you bought a lemon.

I vote complete incompetence, never lay off to conspiracy what incompetence will explain. Learned that one watching the Obama presidency. Hey does anyone have a roster or program? Its getting hard to figure out who's bombing who, who's brutalizing who. My best understanding is ISIS rewards Koranic verse memorization with a Yazidi woman, Assad likes gas, the Turks bomb or support based on income stream, and we Americans send in a handful (but million dollar trained per person) of soldiers to wander in circles. Am I missing anything? Oh wait, Russians want their port in Syria, the Saudis want a gas line through Syria, Iran wants Mecca, Europe wants to bump up their profit margin, so confusing. Where's the popcorn?

The Kurds are the only folks in that region that are worth anything. Figures we aren't really doing much to help them. The Turks should have been thrown out of NATO right after the Berlin Wall fell.

You can't tell one Kurd from another.
Therefor bombing all Kurds will kill some terrorists.

Keith, if Turkey's partnership is real, why is it far & away the biggest source of both direct & indirect volunteers for IS? Why is the border not closed? OK it is in some very rough country, but there hasn't even been a token declaration followed by bombing shit out of anything crossing the border except checked unarmed civilian refugees. This implies not just Turkish insincerity about defeating IS but brings the integrity & honesty of the alliance under question. Instead of siege & destroy key infrastructure, oil flows out while munitions & food flow in. This lack of honesty indicates who is really in charge here, the MIC.

I didn't say it was real, I was thinking about other "allies" such as Saudi.

The house of Saud seems to be relishing it's growing role in the MIC. Of course the logic of being your friend's friend, enemy's enemy does not apply, the MIC requires massive funding sources, not rationality.

On Sunday morning, Kurdish separatist guerrillas launched a suicide-bombing strike on Turkish forces in Angri province, using a tractor laden with explosives.
On Saturday, the president of the Kurdistan Regional government of northern Iraq, Massoud Barzani, condemned the Turkish airstrikes on Iraq and asked the PKK guerrillas to withdraw from the territories he rules. The KRG complained that the airstrikes had killed Kurdish civilians.
Barzani is likely worried that the PKK will become an even bigger factor in the politics of Iraqi Kurdistan now that it is being targeted. He wants both to placate the angry Turks and to constrain the radical Kurds.

Turkey sends ground forces into Iraq after militant attacksTurkish ground forces have crossed into Iraq in pursuit of Kurdish militants for the first time since a ceasefire two years ago.Government officials said the incursion was a "short-term" measure to hunt down PKK (Kurdistan Workers' Party) rebels.
