You said Yes based on what?
Mexico has a nationalized oil production system. An outstanding disaster, poorly run, income sucked off for government funding, little goes into development, drilling or research. Proudfossil, don't let your anger at the present situation let to bad decisions, that's Congress's way of fixing things.

Just think...our national oil industry run by the U.S. Congress.

No doubt they'll operate with the same speed and efficiency as the Katrina relief efforts.

Now, now. Think of the upside. Prices would skyrocket. Supplies would plummet. There would be rationing, a thriving black market, graft, insane amounts of contributions from concerned industries, etc. It might be just what is needed to turn this economy around!
