Collapse of the Industrial Civilization: Interview with Michael Ruppert

Abby Martin speaks with Michael Ruppert, investigative journalist and author of ‘Crossing the Rubicon’, about destructive energy policies, the global energy crisis and the potential for a collapse of industrial civilization as we know it unless people become more than just passive actors.

There appears to be a reasonably large contingent of people promoting further technology and industry to the point where computers and robots will essentially take over, I think one of the names for this is the great singularity.

From my perspective, the great singularity (artificial intelligence greater than human intelligence) is more dangerous than the collapse of civilization. We could produce a new species that does not breathe, does not need an ecosystem and can collaborate across units in ways that humans never could. We and the whole ecosystem could become irrelevant. They could thrive off of primary energy and exist almost anywhere. Those constructs would be even more dangerous than we are and think much faster.
Once in a while the peasants do win. Of course then they just go and find new rulers, you think they would learn.

Same old shit from a burnt-out friend of Bill Wilson.
It takes courage to watch a film so well-done as September 11 - The New Pearl Harbor. You will never be the same. It is a new release. Five hours. Watch it on YouTube for free.

I sat at a table with him at a peak oil conference once in Denver. The guy is mentally ill.

Yeah, I agree that Ruppert is truther nut case.... however. Ruppert is spot on about what is happening to civilization except it's probably a lot worse than he realizes.
