Metropolis should be at the top of the list. Wings of Desire I vaguely recall as being extremely long and boring.

That is a great list of dystopian films. I really need to watch some more from that list. For the moment Gattaca is my all time favorite and I could watch it any number of times.

I added The Boys From Brazil, both the book and movie were very good.

My favorite is (The quiet Earth) 1986

A military scientific experiment goes wacky and kills just about everyone on the planet by altering the unit charge of an electron. (A must watch) :
