What are some good beginners' documentaries/books...

...for someone interested in learning about peak oil?

As for films, I recommend the following:

1) A Crude Awakening: The Oilcrash
2) Collapse (by Michael Ruppert)
3) Oil Smoke and Mirrors
4) Blind Spot

As for books, I would recommend:

1) Peak Everything: Waking up to the Century of Declines (by Richard Heinberg)
2)Techno-Fix: Why Technology Won't Save Us or the Environment

Can you guys think of other good literature and documentaries on peak oil and its socioeconomic impact? The two books I recommend are excellent for understanding peak oil and the general peak everything crisis we are facing.

That's all I have to say for now.

Sincerely DesuMaiden.

Twilight in the Desert, the World Made By Hand, just off the top of my head.
II Chronicles 7:14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

The books always provide much greater detail, but I always like the lectures and interviews as well.

This video is how I was introduced to the issue. Some of the facts are a little out of date but it is reasonably short and easy enough to grasp by anyone. For sharing the issue with people I usually point them to it. The accent and animations are a plus.
