Persians hiring Mexicans to kill Arabs.

What next? British hiring Germans to kill Americans?

I vaguely remember a documentary.. Iran has a sizable number of F-14 tomcats that we sold to the Shah.. none of them fly now, they can't get parts. But they still have them.

We left the neutrality boat a long time ago.

And we need oil. So there will never be neutrality when it comes to the middle east. Geopolitically.. the terror plot will force China to choose between KSA and Iran. So this benefits the US. Iran will either be utterly isolated, or tied with China and then the Saudis are firmly in the US sphere.

(I didn't come up with that on my own, heard it on msnbc.. makes sense though  )

Considering that oil regions in SA are populated by Shiahs, it might be a mistake, a big one. The last one?

It didn't stop them from going into Bahrain.

This is really interesting. The Iranians are also the Russian proxy in the region. The Russians have just penned a three trillion dollar deal with the Chinese for natural gas. Those two countries are not going to budge on Iran. The Iranians are feeling their oats. Unless I miss my guess my long term prediction about Iraq totally blowing up when the US pulls out looks like it is likely to come true.

Maybe it's retaliation for the murder of Iranian scientists and other terrorist attacks.

I believe they still fly a few dozen, not enough to be a threat to the US.

Come on, they always start everything, we always finish it. They turn to terrorism because they are crazy, not because of anything we have done. Everything we do is moral and just. When we assassinate people we do the world a favour, when they plot assassinations it is proof they are evil and grounds for invading their country and stealing their resources. Invading their neighbours, killing millions of civilians, they are not even thinking about these things, they just hate our freedoms.

Those assassinations of the Iranian physicists on their way to work by motorcyclists slapping a sticky bomb to their car is clearly the work of Israel. The Mossad has a history of taking out Arabs with small plastic explosive charges in cell phones, so clearly they have the expertise.

Look at how much flack the CIA is getting for killing an American Al-Qaeda. They would not not risk having a log term assassination campaign directed at Iranian civilians. Not that they haven't had knowledge of the Mossad's work, but it's not the CIA. IMHO.

Let's assume you're right. And you're confident that Uncle Sam (via the CIA or similar org) didn't (AHEM) "suggest" that course of action, given all the annual funding the Israelis get from dear old Uncle?

(If you say "yes", then my suggestion would be do get off the drugs...)

Whatever happens, multinational corporations will profit, military forces will get their funding, and the sheeple will be saddled with war costs once more.

The Saudis have lots of planes. The Iranians have lots of surface to surface missiles that could reduce the Ras Tanura oil platform to a burning wasteland. Would be an interesting war.

If war does happen with Iran and the US gets pulled in, I hope we don't go the expensive conventional route... it'd be much easier to airburst a megaton size H-bomb about 8 miles above Tehran and have regime annihilation instead regime change, than spend a few trillion fighting the Iranians. Put an end to their nuclear program with a decapitation strike.

About twenty minutes after that every city in the Unites States would look the same, due to Russian retaliation. Sure we can tell ourselves they wouldn't, but you can't be certain.

Of course a question is, did the Iranians really try something so stupid and amateurish? Sounds as bad as our idea to kill Castro with poison cigars.

Maybe the Iranians were going to supply the Mexican cartels with yellowcake from Niger as payment?
