Re: Leader of China Abandons G8 To Deal With Civil Strife

Get off the Dope. And face reality. No matter how you twist the facts. Communism is very bad for the health of its citizens. Over 100 Million have died in Communist controlled countries either by Famines, Murder, enforced labour in Gulags or just straight forward Poltical Executions. Not to mention the additional loss of life caused by the export of their Toxic Ideology to puppet states.

Clash at Factory Employing Uighurs Triggered Rioting

By JASON LEOW and GORDON FAIRCLOUGH
Wall Street Journal
JULY 8, 2009

SHAOGUAN, China -- One of the sparks that ignited Xinjiang's ethnic powder keg this week came from a toy factory here in southern China nearly 2,000 miles from Urumqi, the northwestern city hit by the riots.

The trouble started when rumors began to spread that Turkic-speaking, mainly Muslim Uighur migrant workers at the toy plant had raped Chinese women.

... snip ...

But you'll never know the real story here folks.

Meanwhile, who remembers the "China must have 8% growth minimum or civil unrest will result" statements that were carried by multiple news sources last winter?

There Are Many Ways China Can Hit 8% Growth - Part 1

... the 8% number has become something of a mythical giant. That to hit it means that everything will be fine, but to miss it means that the world is coming to an end. ...

Well 8% is an estimate based on numbers of unemployed less growth than that would create. And here it is tomorrow, with civil unrest. Did they make their growth targets? Are they all happily employed?

Right here

The first modern reference to the “bao ba” may date back to the Asian financial crisis, some analysts say. China’s annual GDP growth slumped to 7.8% in 1998 and 7.6% in 1999.

Horrors and Atrocities. Yep. It is true enough that the current ruling clan of China has stepped it up a notch, and reached new heights in exterminating those they consider to be in the way.

China is also the only country that has prepared itself to survive in-tact, through the global hardships that are just beginning. So no, the fantasy of some uprising and implosion of mainland China is just that; a fantasy.

For what purpose do you think China accumulated huge dollar reserves over the past decades? For a petty act of revenge? Generosity towards the US? Not at all. They saved them for the purpose of making a transition from an export market to an inward focussed market. Guess what is happening, RIGHT NOW? They are no longer accumulating.

THEY ARE BUYING STUFF! Important Stuff.
Yes, we are. As we are.
And so shall we remain; Until the end.

They're still saving, but now they're also buying more cars than the US. China appears to be transforming itself from an Eastern nation into a Western nation. But as we all know, this process will be temporary lasting only as long as the unprecedented wealth brought by abundant and cheap oil.

It's like someone eating the last loaf of bread they've saved. When it's gone they'll need to go out and find more. One way or the other. That stepwill be interesting.

Most of the cars that people are buying are generally pretty fuel efficient, especially since now gas prices here are higher than the US.

But it looks like China is making a move on the electric car market

TIANJIN, China — Chinese leaders have adopted a plan aimed at turning the country into one of the leading producers of hybrid and all-electric vehicles within three years, and making it the world leader in electric cars and buses after that.

The goal, which radiates from the very top of the Chinese government, suggests that Detroit’s Big Three, already struggling to stay alive, will face even stiffer foreign competition on the next field of automotive technology than they do today.

“China is well positioned to lead in this,” said David Tulauskas, director of China government policy at General Motors.

Implosion (or rather initial stages of implosion) will come not from uprisings but from collapse of vast infrastructure which is going to get obsolete due to global economic difficulties.
Only later uprisings and civil wars will follow.

And then, well... then they will face a dieoff.

However Americans are spoiling these plans with reeving up printing press. :-D
It is a sad truth, but Chinese have accumulated tons of worthless green toilet paper.
If they preserve 20% of current purchasing value of it, they will be very lucky indeed.
