Okay PO Admins, it has been several months of hit or miss email notifications that new messages have gone through, bnut for the last 72 hours I have received zero email alerts from the board.

I checked my email system at 6 PM tonight and my test emails went through nearly instantly.

Still no email from po.com though.

I only posted a new thread becasue I think that tanada said that his email notification was delayed, mine isn't comming at all.

I should have just posted it in that thread anyways, sorry.

If we are all lucky they will be stopped altogether. The genius who decide to make notification a default on the reply form should be flogged with a wet noodle.

I've never gotten my notification emails in the two years I've been here.

Aaron and Shanny, don't know what you did but I got a que dump of 229 messages from PO.com this morning dated from 11/05/2007 1:52 PM through 11/17/2007 3:27 PM.

That should have cleared everything up to last Saturday, however the que ends there.

Just trying to keep you updated, looks like some solid progress has been made from this end.

If you go to your profile you can set the system to NOT send you notifications, it is entirely within your power as long as everything is working correctly.

Yeah, I just got 25 or so, but I haven't had the problem as long as you seem to have.

OK got back from my 5 day weekend and realized I have not gotten any emails since 11/21/2007 at 1:39 AM, and it was the only one for that day.

I really had given up hope for this function, but as of 7:25 AM EDT 01 April 2008 it has started sending me email updates!

Did you guys upgrade the server when we weren't looking?

Email links no longer working

Unread postby Micki » Sun 08 Feb 2009, 22:29:28

All the emails I received before upgrade for subscribed posts result in error message "Sorry, but this board is currently unavailable. Please try again later."

Is this a temporary problem that is going to be fixed?
Do old subscriptions still work or do I need to search thorugh all the old threads again to find the ones I was subscribing to?

It's different now, and you may have to resubscribe.

go to the User Control Panel
http://www.peakoil.com/forums/ucp.php

and click manage subscriptions...

however, the URLs will be fixed (and improved eventually)

Hope all is well with the wives/husbands.

Thanks for your efforts.

Email - "You are receiving this notification because

Unread postby TheDude » Wed 25 Mar 2009, 14:36:39

you are watching the topic, "PAIN" at "Peakoil.com"." No, I'm not. And stop sending me these friggin' emails, server, or I'll teach you about "PAIN!"

This has been a problem for about a year, I merely glance at a thread and the site decides I'm watching it and inundates me with these email notifications. I've looked and looked at the user control panel for a way to turn it off, any suggestions? Maybe saying No to "Users can contact me by e-mail" or "Administrators can e-mail me information"? But I shouldn't have to do something that drastic. UPDATE: Tried that, didn't help.

On the left-hand Menu under the section labeled Members, try the link named User Panel. In the page that comes up there should be a box on the left labeled Options. Look there in the Overview sub-category for a link named Manage Subscriptions.
