If I thought I could help I certainly would, but I'm not enough of a geek to be sure of doing more good than harm.

So what I'd suggest is sending a PM to Aaron, who has bemusing powers with such matters.

Our email server was recently hacked. As a result our email server has been offline and many messages backed up in the queue.

Don't panic :roll:

email will be soon back online.

and with additional @peakoil.com email addrs!

All the emails I try to send now stay in the Outbox, instead of sent, going to two different people. Any explanation?

To be a little more clear, I have tried sending private messages from the site to two different people, and about five emails in total are just sitting in the Outbox instead of going to the Sent box.

Could this be anything you are doing there? I can not find a "smoking gun" problem

It is because they haven't been read yet.

Once your e-mail has been read, it will appear in the" sent" box.

Normally whenever I open my email I get a set of topics which have been posted to since my last visit to PO.com, however for the last two days they have been very sporatic and randomly delayed. For instance some of the ones I received today after 5 PM were for threads which I have received posting notices from Thursday and Wednesday even though I have received later notifications for the same threads. I am not sure if these delayed notices are duplicates of earlier notices or just ones the server has been slow sending because I delete them as I read them.

Any suggestions as to what is going on and how to fix it from my end?

Is any progress being made on this, I am still getting notices out of chronological order and some of the threds I am watching are not being reported at all, unless I have 20 messeges backlogged in the queue or something.

Okay PO Admins, it has been several months of hit or miss email notifications that new messages have gone through, bnut for the last 72 hours I have received zero email alerts from the board.

I checked my email system at 6 PM tonight and my test emails went through nearly instantly.

Still no email from po.com though.

I have been getting my notification emails flawlessly since I signed up, but all of a sudden they have stopped comming.

Its now been 4 days since I recieved a notification. Do you know what the problem might be?
