While that is true, it is beside the point. Replacement of industrial farms with sustainable organic agriculture will not happen in the free market. It will either occur as a result of government mandate or the depletion of fossil fuels. The former is unacceptable, and the latter is inevitable.


There you go, presently earth friendly growing is not currently economically viable. So, for some reason we have to continue using methods that rape the earth and drive us deeper into overshoot. However, we KNOW that system is unsustainable, and will collapse soon for various physical reasons, ff's just being one. I'm pretty sure I know where to place my long term bet.
