Why is the guy arrested? Did he break any laws?

It is just a *beep* shoe.
As an obsessive perfectionist it is not unusual for me to spend an hour writing and re-writing a single sentence. When abandoning perfection i ask you to judge me on my ideas, not on my words.

As reported by Press Secretary Iraqi Prime Minister Yassin Majid, a journalist threatened to seven and a half years in prison and he will be tried under the law, qualify as "acts of violence against an official who is the guest of the Iraqi Government."

The guy who threw the shoes apparently broke his arm and a rib thowing the shoes.

shoe-thrower has broken arm and rib

Either that, or he was injured when the security forces wrestled him to the ground and then hustled him out of the hall.

Believe the guy would be more of a hero if he had acted spontanenously and not because he was paid.

Wow! 7 and a half years.

I'm surprised they don't charge him for "attempted murder". I mean, throwing a shoe hard enough can kill someone. 8O
