Meet Aaron in RL

Unread postby Aaron » Thu 05 Jun 2008, 10:59:05

8O

Irony is so ironic.

So I have this new job teaching storage software to technologists who use it in their jobs. It's a great job... pays well... & is fun.

The ironic part is that this job is almost 100% travel.

So the senior administrator for peakoil.com flies all over the country doing training courses for a living.

Figures.

Anyway, I'm in Minnesota this week & had dinner with Wisconsin Cur last night.

Great company & great meal.

I'll use this thread to post my locations as I travel in case any of you would like to get together.

So far I'm scheduled to be in New Jersey next week... then Houston later this month. I'm also scheduled in Seattle & Detroit soon.

Contact me if you're interested.

More to come...

AWESOME!!

You should do a computer monitor signing somewhere. That would be cool.

Let me know when you're in Dallas. Maybe EB, PM, you and me can get together.

+1 to BigTex's suggestion - dinner (with the infamous 3,000 mile Caesar salad) & great conversation sounds good to me.

I'll try and get Dallas on my list.

My brother is working there actually.

The 3000 mile salad and the 3000 mile Aaron. Congratulations on the job; might as well git while the gittin's good. Or as Abbey said, might as well get on with it until it's all gone.

Join the club, Aaron. I travel all over the country also doing industrial controls software. I'll be in St Louis on Monday. I also find it ironic that me, a peak oil aware individual, has such a huge carbon footprint. I see it as somewhat short lived though. Pretty soon, traveling jobs will be a thing of the past. Sure, people will still have to travel, but not on a whim like we do today.

Aaron, if in Nashville or anywhere nearby, please let me know. You can come eat some great local food, and we can put you to work pulling ragweed and Virginia smartweed. :)

Incidentally, I am also in tech. I am the Director of Technology for Emma. We're looking for a PostgreSQL database admin and a junior Unix/Linux sysadmin. Know anyone?

Thanks everyone,

I'll post my upcoming destinations as I receive them in this thread.

I'm in Minneapolis right now, but return home to Houston tomorrow.
