This was from a January bill, since we've switched to electronic only and i don't have the password to see it.

My TOTAL bill was $45.14 for ELECTRIC only. That was for 429 kWhs. So thats 10.5 cents.

My bill includes 3% for low income assistance. Anyone else have to pay that?

Really should move out to the Pacific northwest. I wouldn't need heat or AC.

Reporting from the Singapore side of things. Since the latest rate adjustment from Apr 2008 (they do this quarterly), Singapore electricity tariffs are now SGD 23.88 cents per KWh for typical domestic users. At the current USD/SGD forex rate of around 1.36, that works out to around USD 17.56 cents per KWh.

And as I reported in the same posting, on a year-on-year basis that means we're up 26.48%, and we're up 48.69% in 3 years.

A bunch of French winemakers came to the Willamette Valley for a conference in the 80s, David Lett was explaining how the damp but not cold winter climate in the area was essential for growing grapes like pinot noir. It was mid-July, and the temp was 108F...

The snowfall here is usually pretty tame but it's still cold in the winter and hot in the summer.

Our rates are around 14 cents per KWH. On a small island where we live in the summer they are around 28 cents per KWH making them the most expensive I know of anywhere. It makes solar attractive, though.

Juneau, AK residents have been paying 52 cents/kWh since April 16th. An avalanche took out a bunch of transmission lines or something so they had to switch to diesel! powered generators. OUCH.

Okay, just got my Georgia power bill today, so I figured my KWH rate, which works out to 9.2 cents a KWH. My total bill for last month was $54.97...already starting the steep climb to mid-summer highs. Hope to keep the peak power bill this year below $150, though.

I´m in a semidetached(140 square mts) modern well insulated house in Germany.My projected costs for Gas and Electricity bills for 2009 will be approx €1900 per year.
We currently pay €140 per month for Gas and electricity.EWE our supplier has recently announced an increase of 17%on Gas

The boss of Britain's biggest power supplier has warned that UK households face more hikes in gas and electricity bills.
Sam Laidlaw, chief executive of British Gas owner Centrica, told a committee of MPs that soaring wholesale energy costs mean it is "clear" prices will have to go up.
There is growing speculation that bills could rise by as much as 40% later this year - on top of an average 15% rise imposed by the UK's major energy firms at the start of this year.
Mr Laidlaw was speaking to members of the Business and Enterprise Select Committee, which is questioning the companies' bosses as part of an inquiry into energy prices.
He said: "It's clear that at some point these prices will have to rise. The issue we face in the UK is that, as our gas production falls, we are no longer isolated from international markets and have to buy increasingly large volumes of gas from different parts of the world.
"Global gas prices are being driven ever higher by record oil prices and by rising demand from regions such as Asia.

I live in a standalone bungalow, Kansas (central US). Not modern or modernized. Slightly over 100 square metres. Last year's bills added together were $922 for gas + $451 for electric, so €883. However, I have a small house and am quite thrifty. Your bill sounds very much in line with the US average.

I assume you mean all energy consumed. Medium-sized stand-alone house in the southern United States, built in 1954, shaded by oak trees year round. Toyota compact car and Yamaha scooter.

Per month:
Electricity: $75/month, $900/year
Natural gas: $45/month, $540/year
Propane (grill): $7/month, $84/year
Gasoline: $160/month, $1920/year (will be decreasing as I use my scooter more often)

Just for the house, that amounts to about $1524/year, give or take a little. Add $1920 for gasoline.

My figure of €1900($2,959) is for Gas and Electricity alone..The car I use only when necessary.Barring long journeys we fill the car up approx twice per month ie €200($310)we luckily have a train station in our small village.

I live in a big apartment complex and pay $590 rent for 1 bedroom that includes electricity, gas and water. So I can turn the AC as long as I want and my rent wil still be $590. It is like 750 sqft or 75 m2 and has washer dryer in it.

I am in Houston ....

Similar thread at link, going back to 2006.

I have a 210 sq. metre home and my electric bill (supplier is Enersource) averages $114 (Canadian) per month and the natural gas (supplier is Enbridge) bill is similar, $118. That is with all the various supplemental charges added in.

Of course the actual usage fluctuates so much. Power goes up in summer a lot with air conditoning, last Sept. bill worked out to $136 per month, whereas the bill for May worked out to $70 per month.

Gas is just the reverse of course, up to $194 per month in winter and down to just $32 in summer.

For sure, my gas bill is going up by about 28%, just read in the news, Enbridge just obtained a massive rate increase authorization.

I suspect that when the government enacts carbon taxes, they both will shoot up more.
