Just as the title says, are there peak oil groups in Hong Kong?

Also, is there any way to search among the forum members by locations?

Also does anyone know what is the term for 'Peak Oil' in Chinese?

Incidentally, www.peakoil.com appears to censored in China. I was there a couple of time over the past few months and I can never access peakoil.com over there.

Well, at least according to Google :

Peak oil = 高峰油
Peak oil production = 高峰石油生产

I'm not sure whether 高峰油 makes any sense, though :lol:

I realize this is like telling a Spaniard there's a group in Moscow, but they might know something.

Might the Chinese be the same as a translation of the English? Peak (top) + oil?
Peak + oil + production would be more accurate.

This might sound strange but have you thought about comparing Hong Kong to Singapore?

I actually think that Hong Kong will fare better than Singapore because it has a toe hold on the mainland.

I'm sure there is a planning department in Beijing taking care of all your future problems :shock:

Singapore will be toast, 4 million on an island the size of a beer-mat.

Nice weather though.

We are your peak oil group. Get used to it. If you are interested in the "Transition Town" movement, localization of agriculture and commerce or want to learn permaculture I'd recommend you get the heck out of Hong Kong. IMMEDIATELY

I read here but don't post much - actually not for quite some time. I'm in HK and no I don't think there is a group here. In fact I've never met anyone who knows anything about it, they're all too busy making money!

No problem accessing peak oil sites in HK but probably different on the mainland.
