Peak Oil, Sustainabilty and Climate Change

Just watched a video from Dr. Richard Alley on YouTube,
http://youtu.be/pI8QJ7-XnW8

He doesn't quite use the terminology Peak Oil, but he goes through resource depletion starting with the development of America and on through the transitions to fossil fuels while pointing out we are hitting the limits of fossil fuels.
II Chronicles 7:14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Good lecture, and he does actually use the phrase Peak (Whale) Oil hehehe!
Alfred Tennyson wrote:We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

Fantastic lecture!!! Should be mandatory twice a year in every grade of every school (K-12) across the country. Even in Texas...

We are having a massive solar power display in Australia at the moment. After a quiet cyclone season so far we now have two big ones. Northern Territory Cyclone Lam, Category 4 winds of 220 Km per hour. Queensland cyclone Marcia Category 5 winds to 295 KPH, building up faster than expected. Will be an interesting couple of days. We do not need to get more or bigger ones than this.
