Deaths as Turkish air strikes hit targets in Syria
At least 20 killed in Jeb el-Kussa, a village south of Jarablus, as Turkey's military role in Syrian conflict expands.
"At least 20 civilians were killed and 50 others wounded by Turkish artillery fire and air strikes on Sunday morning at Jeb el-Kussa [a village south of Jarablus]," said Rami Abdel Rahman of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), a Britain-based monitor with a network of sources on the ground.

Turkey has not yet released an official comment.

Conclusion

It becomes readily apparent, after a mere tertiary review of the events, that the limited Turkish operation to combat ISIS is a false narrative to cover the reality that Turkey is invading Syria with its Islamic proxies to secure its own national goals. These goals are those of the corrupt Erdogan regime only, and not those of the Turkish people. Turkish security will not be served by continuing the spiral of violence and injustice in Syria, nor by filling the pockets of the Erdogan family and their mafia allies through money made from war profiteering and illicit smuggling. Turkey and the United States are hoodwinking the Turkish and Kurdish people, and feeding them a lie that has convinced them to subordinate their own interests. Turkey defeated the non-existent ISIS threat in Jarablus, which evaporated within hours, and will capitalize on the door that has been opened to them as much as possible. Russia will rue the day it trusted Erdogan again, and the Kurds must learn the truths of the past. The United States will continue to use them to its own ends until the Kurds finally stop acting like the battered spouse in the relationship.

PKK vows to defend YPG from Turkish invasion into northern Syria
By Chris Tomson - 29/08/2016

A senior military official of the PKK, Duran Kalkan, said the Kurdish militant group was “ready to do anything” to defend Rojava, a region in northern Syria controlled by Kurdish factions.

In the statement released on Monday evening, Kalkan insisted the PKK would “deploy more forces to Rojava” if the Turkish Army would not immediately stop its attacks on the YPG...

Jinha news reported that thousands of people were in the streets.

The Movement for a Democratic Society (TEV-DEM), the coalition governing the autonomous region of Rojava in northern Syria, issued a statement accusing Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of trying to stop the march for freedom and democracy in the region and warned that not only Kurds but all societies were at risk from the Turkish incursion into Syria.

By now, YPG units have entered the villages of Til Madîq, Hecinê, Qarami, Jabal Na’i and Mişerefê and engaged pro-Turkish militants in the villages. Some pro-Kurdish sources argue that some villages have been already taken.

Still, A Road Unforeseen convincingly shows that in Rojava “people are trying to do something, and women are at the center.” This attempt, and the Syrian revolution that made it possible, deserves our attention and our solidarity.

Turkish warplanes hit outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) targets in the southeastern province of Diyarbakır on Dec. 7, Doğan News Agency has reported.

Warplanes destroyed a shelter and a weapon emplacement in an air operation, the Turkish Armed Forces said in a written statement.

Meanwhile, PKK militants attacked the provincial building of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) with a hand-made bomb on Dec. 6.

Syria: New talks amid shifting alliances

Rojava shift

ISIS is close to being defeated in Syria. In the wake of its defeat, the Rojava revolution has spread to become a revolutionary force in broader areas of northern Syria. Behind the SDF is the revolutionary system of “democratic self-administration” pioneered in Rojava.

On November 30, the Constituent Assembly of the Democratic Federation of Northern Syria — the areas under “democratic self-administration” — declared their system “to be a democratic solution for the future of Syria and a system to guarantee an exit from the current crisis and to prevent social collapse.

“In addition, the administration experience we have achieved since the July 19 revolution that occurred with the participation of all peoples has posed an example for all of Syria.”

The Constituent Assembly changed the name of the federation from Democratic Federation of Northern Syria-Rojava, removing “Rojava”. This emphasised that their aim is a democratic Syria, not Kurdish separatism.

Stopping this democratic Syria is the aim that unites Erdoğan and Assad and this will define the next phase of the conflict.

Turkish Army uses ISIS as an excuse to attack Kurdish forces in northern Syria
By Leith Fadel - 14/02/2017

The Turkish Army and their rebel associates have recently intensified their attacks against the Kurdish-led “Syrian Democratic Forces” (SDF) in northern Syria, despite the fact they are nowhere near the front-lines with the Islamic State (ISIS).

Turkish-backed rebels boasted on their social media accounts, Tuesday, about targeting the Kurdish forces in the northern countryside of Aleppo.

The constant harassment of the Kurdish forces is part of the Turkish Army’s plan in Syria, as their battle with the Islamic State is just a facade that is hiding their true intentions.

BEIRUT, LEBANON (7:25 P.M.) – The Turkish Army transported several vehicles to the northern countryside of Aleppo this weekend in order to beef up their numbers before launching an attack against the Kurdish-led “Syrian Democratic Forces” (SDF).

Photos from the Menbeij area of Aleppo emerged on Saturday, showing the Turkish Army transporting several armored vehicles towards their main front-line against the Kurdish forces.

This latest move by the Turkish Army comes just 48 hours after their president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, vowed to capture Menbeij from the “PKK forces.”
