If I understand the question I would say yes. But I see "Hollywood" in the same light as the NRA or any R populated group. The only problem I have is when folks argue that "Hollywood" is not just one more D party dominated lobbyist group. As such they have the privilege to put forward whatever liberal stance it chooses.

What Hollywood does have that other groups do not, is the unwavering attention of the media and the legions of fans of stars, producers, directors, etc. Thus when they make statements with political content, those statements reach a very large number of people, which is very unlike any other group of people. The typical political comment from a Hollywood celeb is no more insightful than the average man-on-the-street interview, of course, other than the much wider audience - likely nation-wide coverage.

They have an equal right to political free speech as anyone, of course. And I have an equal right to base my choices on whatever they have said. I therefore choose to never patronize movies or even TV shows where one of the actors/actresses/producers/etc. has said anything I find offensive, excessively political, or just plain dumb. If whatever their work product was has actual merit, I figure it will be on free TV at some point, and I will see it without adding a single penny to the income of someone who offended me.

As an example, Harrison Ford did a brief media interview that I found offensive in 2015. I therefore refrained from seeing Star Wars: The Force Awakens until last week when we had a premium cable free preview on DirecTV. The film had the third-highest gross earnings of all time, but they were charging $12.50 per ticket at the AMC Theater, and I figured a Star Wars movie wasn't worth it, and Ford's comments sealed the deal.

The people in Hollywood are public figures and they are very very wealthy. That gives them a lot of power. They are mostly Ds, so they use their power as public figures to bash the Rs and they spend their money to boost the Ds.

Cheers!

Al-Qaeda Received Oscar by Hollywood!

The whole World is going insane. The so-called "White Helmets", a CIA-MI6 funded organization which serves Al-Qaeda head choppers in Syria has been given an Oscar by Hollywood.

NBC has corrupt ties to Hollywood and tried to coverup for serial rapist Weinstein.

Hollywood has all sorts of pedophiles and sexual predators as part of its elite. People know about this, but Congress does not have any Special Counsel for investigating this rot.

The UK had Jimmy Savile, who also had a "roof" of protection from politicians.

IMO the movie theaters are a dying business. The future will be series on streaming and subscription services. Hollywood needs to reinvent itself to stay on top and they're not doing a good job by aligning themselves with the left and hoarding casting couch people like Weinstein.

I think the problem goes deeper, most the celebrity actor types tend to live in a bubble world of getting attention, adulation and lots of money. This bubble doesn't give these people much of any perspective or insight into the struggles that those of us outside of Hollywood have to face.

I watch old black and white movies by streaming them. There is hardly anything produced anymore worth watching.
